The Glutenberg blonde is a gluten-free ale made from millet. Floral hops, white pepper and lemon zest aromas gives it a beautiful and charming nose. The mouth bursts with white flowers, citrus and spicy flavours. With just a hint of bitterness to balance out the sweetness of the millet and the corn, this beer offers a truly refreshing taste.

Poured from an undated pint can into a Chimay goblet.

On the pour almost one finger of bone white head form on a hazy, pale golden straw body. Head retention. Isn't the best, but it never goes headless.

The Aroma is super light and almost lemony. There is a slight Belgian ale Aroma going on, with some slight mi eralic note behind it. Nothing off so far bit it comes off as light.

The flavor follows the Aroma, with some super light and bright, nearly Belgian flavors. The citrus comes off as slightly happier in the flavor, but it still feels a bit yeasty. There is a bitterness that creeps up in the back, despite its subtleness the bitterness comes off as more intense despite it not overtaking everything. Sort of strange and almost like hop bite of some sort. There is a very slight grainy finish in the very back.

Feel is honestly quite thin, and it ends up getting overtaken by a dry feeling. There is zero malty fullness, and it only comes off as slightly more full than carbonated water. Somehow though this feeling lasts longer than you would expect.

Overall this isn't a bad beer, but you can definitely tell there isn't barley. If I wasn't told this was brewed without barley I'd just assume something wasn't dialed in woth their brewing process.

Had this on a warm early october evening. Hits the spot very balanced. Gluten free or not this is a very refreshing beverage. Almost taste like a farmhouse ale. We'll be pairing it with a fish dinner tonight so I think it's about perfect for that. Well done!

After having been recently diagnosed with celiac disease, I'm trying whatever gluten-free beers I can find in Madison. I bought a 4-pack of this beer earlier tonight and poured into a nonic pint.
L=Nice golden color, darker than most adjuncts; one finger head dissipated after a minute or so.
S=Herbal hop aroma present and dominates any maltiness.
T=I was put off a bit by the first sip, thinking it was more like an IPA; after a minute, a maltiness dominated, with a modest about of herbal/hoppiness. Smoother and less carbonated than AAL's; slight citrus flavor is present.
F=Can put my finger on it, but it seems a bit watery compared to other golden ales.
O=I will likely buy this again and will have no problem finishing the other three...I need to compare this to the Estrella Damm Daura head-to-head to see which one wins out.

Out of the Glutenberg sampler, I liked this one the best. Golden and clear, with suds that fade fast. Light scent of lemon and flower; clean. The taste follows the same lines, kinda peppery, powdery citrus and floral flavors over sweet corn

Pours gem clear with a lemon-yellow hue (SRM 3). The one-half inch, chunky white head quickly evaporates, leaving no lacing. Random carbonation fills a Pretentious Glass Company Dimpled Mug with bubbles ranging from large to tiny as they rapidly scramble upwards.

Sweetness is sugary, with lots of lemon and not much more. All said, it is surprisingly inviting.

Initially, sweetness is moderate and filled with grains. This holds true up to the finish, which is dramatically unpleasant…acidic and astringent. The finish then lingers only to be dismissed by the next sip. Once I became accustomed to the finish, the beer did seem to improve.

A light body with watery texture and absolutely no trace of alcohol. Carbonation is very fizzy, similar to seltzer. The dryness found in the finish wipes out all trace of the initial sweetness.

While this is certainly recognizable as beer, I personally have no desire to have a second. My search for enjoyable gluten-free beers continues.

at Epcot special event booth via a can pour, nothing remarkable a basic blonde with no particular frills, fruitiness, or bitterness. A good beer while eating but not one to be sat and savored.

I have to note that I’m grading on a scale, Its not fair to compare this beer to normal beers......I’m celiac and this brewer is constantly the best I can get without getting ill. The Blonde is their flagship beer and its a generic lager. I’d look down on this style before my diagnosis but this is as good as it gets for a celiac. I just wish some of the other Glutenberg products were available in my region. I chose to write this review as I see so many negative reviews but the reviewers are comparing it to beers containing gluten.

Basically a no frills lager, good after mowing the lawn on a hot day and tastes roughly like a beer should which is all I can ask for! Best of the Gluten Free breweries in my opinion.
