Thanks, match1112!

A very dark beer for a hefeweizen. The beer pours a cloudy dark grapefruit and blood orange color with a moderately-sized off-white head, not leaving much stick down the glass.

Very nice aroma consisting of banana bread, blood orange, cereal malts, and mild banana. There's only a minimal spice character; this hefeweizen is very fruit-forward.

The flavor is a nice combination of blood orange, banana, wheat, and very mild spice. Incredibly drinkable, though I wish there was either more banana or blood orange character. While both are present, I would like either or both to be even more expressive.

Medium bodied with moderate-high carbonation.

A very tasty, incredibly drinkable, fruit-forward hefeweizen. I liked it a lot.

A: A vigorous pour wields a generous thick creamy four finger head that lasts a good while. the head is kind of a cinnamon pumpkin color with the body being a dirty brownish orange color.

S: Smells great! Some citrus at first with a bananna bread aroma to it.

T: Not as much blood orange as I was hoping for but a real nice bananna and spice taste.

M: Nice full body with a real creamy texture to it. Good amount of carbonation and not hardly any bitterness, just a little spice on the finish.

O: Would of liked to have more citrus punch to it. Other than that a real nice take on a Hefe. Cant wait to see what they do with their blueberries!

A Hefeweizen brewed with blood oranges. The brewer said the Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter movie was the inspiration for this beer.

Waxed pint mini-growler, unique label with vampire teeth. Served in a small goblet glass.

Finely textured creamy white foam on top, looks almost like the creamy head of a Guinness on nitro. A drippy ring of lacing forms around the edges after the glass is sipped. Coverage is pretty good, the skim lasts for awhile after the initial sips. Murky brown into orange in the lower part of the glass. Would have been nice to see some color from the blood oranges, but for a hefe it looks nice.

Fruity aroma, big banana esters and subdued earthy citrus sweetness.

Taste is similarly fruity, some tartness from the oranges, but subdued in their imparted flavor. Banana creamsicle impression, mellow smooth wheatiness in the middle and lingering in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is better than most american hefes, nearly on par with New Glarus, almost. Smooth and impossibly creamy. Overall a great experimental variation on the Springfield Wheat, though a little more blood orange flavor and color would be nice.
