one of the better straight up american india pale ales ive had in recent memory (which admittedly may not be all that long). first beer ive tried from these guys as well, very impressive. pours light amber in color letting plenty of light through, but still a tad blurry. a rich and foamy white lace crown rests on top and doesnt go anywhere. the nose is sticky and bitter, resinous, very piney, like good ganga. flavor is only a little more balanced by a coppery pale malt, this is still a hop beast. it tastes like a freshly milled pine board rubbed down with a fresh poblano pepper. theres no heat, but there is some capsicum element present that i have to imagine is a product of whatever hops were used here. bitter and pungent, but still drinkable with a medium body made lighter by airy carbonation and a velvety soft texture. the bitterness in the finish lasts a long while and reminds me how good this was. should have got two bombers!

Another bottle purchased from France 44 while on business trip to Minny - yes, drank in the Hotel room. Poured in the Surly pint glass, also purchased from France 44.
A: I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like this. The clarity is unreal. I feel like I am looking at golden-colored water. The lacing on the glass is nice and a small layer remains on the head of the brew throughout the drink. The first 5 appearance I've given.
S: Hop-nasty. A little malt, a little pine, and a ton of citrus. This is awesome. The only reason this isn't a 5 is because I had to stick my face way into the glass to get a strong whiff. Smell fantastic, but isn't particularly strong.
T: This one isn't "well balanced" and that's awesome. Not malty at all. This is how I like my IPA's to taste. I want a lot of hops and a little malt. Buttery, piney for sure, I think it's amarillo hops, and citrus taste. There is almost a pineapple presence, but definitely some grapefruit.
M: Light body, creamy, medium carbonation.
O: I feel like people often say "this is for hop head's", but this truly IS FOR HOP HEAD'S! I really, REALLY like this one. As mentioned earlier, I like IPA's that aren't well balanced and the hops outshine the malt. Well this one fits the bill.

22oz, No date
Mini 5oz snifter
A: Pours a really beautiful clear orange color. Bright white head. Fades really quickly. Some lacing.
S: Fruity aroma. Lots of floral citrus hop aromas. Smells really fresh. Minimal malt character.
T: Up front, some nice floral hop and pine bitterness. Grapefruit, tangerine, overripe peach. It's nice. Minimal malt bill. Very clean. Fairly dry finish.
M: Medium bodied. Good carbonation.

22oz bomber, thanks DaveAnderson
appearance: served in a hillards can-pint, bright copper body, filmy white head with a nice sticky lace
smell: floral aroma - grapefruit, tangerine, caramel malt
taste: another good hop-forward beer from minnesota - a bright floral hop profile - lemon zest, tangerine, sugar, grapefruit, light toasted malt. Light and floral - tasty.
mouthfeel: rather light, faint lingering bitterness
overall: good stuff
