Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into an unbranded becker pint glass

Pours a deep gold with amber accents capped by a two finger clean white head. Excellent retention, gobs of splotchy lacing left along the glass. Big, bold nose chock full of mango, pineapple, and other citrusy fruit notes rounded out by some floral accents. Opens with mango, papaya, pineapple, even some edible orchid. Some mild sweet malt and honey accents midpalate. Finishes dry with dominant citrus rind bitterness. Light to lighter side of medium-bodied, slick but very silky mouthfeel. One of the better American IPAs that I've had for the first time recently. Highly recommended.

Poured from the bottle a bright and clear gold color with three fingers of creamy off-white head. Decent lacing left behind.

Big juicy aroma of pine resin and grapefruit along with light caramel malts.

The taste opened with a bitter hop bite. Mostly grapefruit with a lesser amount of pine. Balanced nicely with caramel malts and biscuit toward the finish.

Medium bodied and slick with a moderate carbonation.

Well-balanced yet still very hoppy and delicious. I'll drink this anytime!

22oz bottle poured into an Idle Hands tulip glass.

A - Pours a crystal clear coppery golden color. A two finger head of rocky off-white foam lingers for a couple of minutes slowly fizzling to the surface and leaving behind lots of sticky webbing on the glass and nice rings of lace tracking progress as the beer level falls towards the bottom of the glass.

S - Tons of citrus - sweet oranges and ripe grapefruit. Nice tropical notes of mango, a bit of pine. Low level bready malt aromas, a bit of sugary sweetness, some sharp hop bitterness.

T - Interesting flavor profile. Hop forward with lots of citrus...especially getting oranges up front and then the malt slides in behind that with some sweetness, an earthiness and a bit of caramel. This then gets backed up by a firm grapefruit quality - juicy with a fresh bitterness to it. The bitterness lingers far past the swallow and leaves a lasting citrus impression consistent with finishing a sip of fresh grapefruit juice...nice.

M - Medium body with a firm carbonation that is a bit tingly and a bit foamy at the same time. Well balanced - hop forward with malt nuances...fresh fruity/citrusy character overall. Mid level bitterness that lingers behind each swallow.

O - Very good IPA. Would definitely get this again if the opportunity presents itself. Has all of the requisite IPA characteristics, but presents itself in a somewhat unique way. The malt and hops interact well, coming in layers of flavor with a fruity citrus up front followed by some soft malt character and finishing with a juicy and bitter finish. There really are three distinct phases of each sip with the different characters presenting themselves differently in each step. Worth seeking out...hope to try more from this brewery in the future.

Thanks for this second bottle after I broke the first one, Steasy66!

Appearance. Pours a hazy gold-amber with a finger of thick cream coloured head that leaves some pretty lace behind.

Smell. Caramel and honey, dank oily hops with some candied citrus fruits and a little bit of cedar.

Taste. Nice oily hops again with sweet caramel malts backing it all up. Good amount of bitter oily citrus rinds but the fairly big malty base keeps things quite drinkable.

Mouthfeel. Medium+ body, below medium carbonation.

Overall. Great stuff. Would be in my regular rotation if it was available around these parts.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and caramel flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice balance of citrus and caramel qualities.
