Picked up a growler at the brewery's two-year birthday party!
Look - hazy yellow color, decent head (that dissipates quickly) and limited lacing
Smell - strong banana notes, light toast smell
Taste - citrus and banana flavors, some sweet maltiness, yeasty flavors
Feel - smooth start, balanced carbonation, medium bodied, limited trailing bitterness
Overall - very tasty hefeweizen

Appearance: Light yellow, hazy. Big head.
Smell: Crackers, banana, yeasty.
Taste: Lemons and wheat trade off in the forefront on each taste. Full flavored but easy to drink.
Overall: A nice easy drinking hefe, I like them to have a little more yeast and banana in the taste, but this one's lemon and wheat also hit the spot. Cans, 12oz bottles, or a kegerator would be better than 22oz bottles though.

a very light yellow pour, opaque, with a finger of head which turned into 1/8" for the rest of the glass. smells of orange citrus, bell pepper, saison yeast.. probably one of the nicest smelling hefeweizens i've come across. the flavor is pretty generic of the style, lots of wheat, fruity citrus taste of orange peels.. but then the yeast kicks in at the end and is a completely different yeast than most hefes i've had.. very farmhouse saison style.
light in body with high carbonation, a very refreshing beer.
this is really nice for the style, but as it's not a style i am very into - i feel like i can't really be giving it an extremely high rating. for the value (less than $5 a bomber) it's worth it for any fans of the style. i mainly got it because everything i've had from steel toe has been excellent, and again, as far as the style goes - this is pretty excellent.
