A true to style Bavarian-style Hefeweizen, brewed to be perfectly refreshing for a hot summer day. Aromas of baked bread, from the malted wheat, are accompanied by banana, clove, and hints of lemony citrus from a traditional strain of yeast.

22oz bottle. Poured out a cloudy, golden color with a small, fizzy, white head of foam. It smelled of clove, banana, wheat and yeast. It tasted of sweet wheat flavors with clove and banana flavors. Subtle bitter finish.

12oz can. No dating information found. Not sure when this was last brewed, based on dating of previous reviews.
Cloudy, pale gold colored body. Brief one finger white head, which recedes to a partial cap.
Aroma is baked bread, but joined by the esters of banana, clove, and pencil eraser.
Taste has a lemon twist, but the more dominating flavors are wheat, banana, and cloves. The esters swirl off in the after taste.
Medium mouth feel. Good carbonation.
Hits all the expected smells and flavors of a cloudy wheat beer, with esters. Does not have a billowing head of German beers of the style. The lemon is a nod to summer refreshment.

Very light on body and flavor. Great smell that makes you think the flavor is going to burst but it doesn't. Pale yellow straw color. A bit disappointed but an easy drinker. Just needs some work. Keep at it Steel Toe.

At the tap room into a shaker, pours a hazy dull golden apricot with a small foamy head with just a little retention and lacing.

a little light in body and flavor for me for the hefeweizen style, although i appreciate it in the hot summer weather context. i just like mine to have a little more body and a little more of an intense fruity yeast profile, this seems understated in almost every way. its pale and hazy, but not bright and yellow, and its got a shorter and less creamy head than i look for in the style. what i do like about it is the cleanness of the grain, the wheat isnt sharp at all, and its nice and dry. i also like the citrus notes in here, lemon peel and orange juice come to mind, its a little more relaxed than a lot of these, more balanced with the milder yeast strain and these other fruity notes. less of the hard banana and clove, more of a lemongrass and tea thing going on. not an overly complex beer though. good carbonation from the tap, a very light body, and a good overall flavor, but just not quite as substantial as it should be. i have found all of the hoppy stuff from steel toe to be fantastic, this one was a little less impressive...
