Pours a bright and clear gold/amber color with a fine off white head.

Aromas are of spices, fruit, and hard candies.

Taste is powerful, this beer really packs a punch. Spicy wheat flavors, some crisp fruits, almost a cider like character, and strong booze notes. Finish has a crispness, a sharp mineral bite, and a definite warm kick from the alcohol.

Mouthfeel is good, very thick, yet still fairly smooth feeling.

Drinkability is not this beers strong suit, and least not at this point. While this is a great full flavored wheatwine, that I really enjoyed, it is a definite butt kicker. This was a one and done. But an excellent sipper none the less!

On draught at Bailey's, Rorschach One is murky copper with a small white collar that leaves light, scattered lace.

Smell is sweet, a bit soapy, with raisins and overripe fruit.

Taste is sweet and intensely rich, almost like a nut liquer, with a fairly heavy amount of fusels, almost in hobo breath territory. Improved as it warmed to room temp, but still very rough around the edges. Shows great aging potential, if I had bottles, I'd give them 3-5 years before I cracked into them.

Mouthfeel is very dry on the finish, mostly from the alcohol, but there's some viscosity.

Drinkability is was pretty tough at this point, really took me a long time to work through it. This needs time.

Having on tap at 38 Degrees in Alhambra,CA.

Came to me a cloudy red, copper hue. Ring of white bubbles that left no lace whatsoever on the glass.

Smell is very much of raisins and ripe fruits with a sweet but strong boozy presence. Smells of all its 11 percent goodness.

Taste is super boozy. Strong like a port. Raisins are definately there, brown sugar too. Kinda kills my palate.

Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy. This definately needs some time to develop. Its really harsh and would probably mellow and become more complex with some age on it. Not a bad beer, just a young one.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ,

A: Pours a cloudy, unfiltered dark red with a creamy, long-lasting off-white head.

S: Dark fruit/raisin, with a hint of blue cheese which was quite intriguing.

T: Raisin and fig are heavy with some nuttiness. Wheat with some banana esters. Pretty classic wheatwine flavours with some notes of ethanol. Not huge and complex.

M: Full-bodied, viscous, moderate solvent character.

D: A nice wheatwine effort from Mad River. It seems that a lot of CA brewers are starting to make this style, and I'd like to see more of it.
