The 5:02 is a true to style American Amber Ale that combines a light caramel malt sweetness with a dry and clean finish, complements of moderate hop bitterness and our house yeast strain. Stick your nose in there and pick up the toasted biscuit like aroma paired with a sprinkle of American hop varieties, making for the perfect year-round beer. With an Amber Ale like this, it's definitely 5:02 somewhere

Appearance: Pours a mostly clear, bronze color with a slight bright amber hue. A moderate off-white head. SRM of 15-17. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong and toasty aromas of caramel, brown bread, toast, crust & crumbs, and some French Toast on the end. (4.00)
Flavor: The flavor follows with even more toasty and bready flavors. Strong brown bread, toast, crumbs & crust. Some light grassy hops in the middle. So toasty. Some mild French Toast sweetness underneath, but finishes relatively dry. (4.00)
Feel: Moderate body. Good carbonation. Finishes malty, but the carbonation is cleansing and balances the beer. (4.00)
Compared to Alaskan Amber 3/24/21: Pours a slightly lighter color with a lighter head, but quite similar. More brown bread and toasty aromas. Less caramel, molasses, whiskey, vanilla, and pine
Overall: A pretty good amber ale here. This one has strong toasty and brown bread malt flavors. Incredibly toasty, malty, yet drinks fairly clean and not overpowering. Sort of reminds me of many US renditions of Oktoberfest beers with the grassy hops and strong toasty malts. Side by side, I'm not sure I could tell the difference. Milder than Alaskan Amber though (which is an Altbier). Overall, this one is impressive for this local brewery and would drink again. (Final Rating: 4.05)

From a twelve ounce can, this beer pours a lightly hazy amber color. The head is whit and frothy. Wonderful malt and grain aroma, with a firm and balanced taste. It reminds me so much of the old amber ales that were so ubiquitous in any craft brewery of the late 90’s or early 2000’s. I enjoy the style.

12oz can no apparent born on or drink by date.
Ruddy amber - orange highlights. 1" off white head retains at 1/4".
Gritty, grainy, earthy aroma. Dough. Feed store. Fat Tire-ish. Floral hop hint behind the malt.
Aroma continues with the same flavors. Chalky, grainy - floral turns grassy on the hop flavor.
Medium body, medium carbonation. Malt driven but enough hops to dry the grassy, herbal finish.
Better than expected.

Poured into a WBC can glass.
The beer is a liquid caramel color with a light tan colored head that recedes to a film with light world map lacing. The aroma is heavy with caramel sweetness and spicy, herbal hops. Tastes dry and woody, cedar planks with spicy dry hops and light caramel sweetness. Feels light and dry in the mouth. Overall, a bit heavy on the wood and spicy hops that subdue the caramel malt sweetness.

Pours a light copper color with a two finger white head that disappates quickly. Aroma is caramel malt sweetness, pine, light grapefruit, and biscuit. Taste follows with pine, earth, grapefruit, rind, and hints of bread dough/biscuit and caramel. Mouthfeel is great, light to medium with perfect carbonation for a drinkable pale ale. Overall, this is a very nice, light pale ale, and seems to hit exactly what the brewer intends as a lighter version of the 5:02 amber.

Poured out a reddish color with a small, tan head. It smelled malty and of piney. A nice sharp bitter hop bite. It has a burnt toast maltiness. It was crisp and sharp with a dry finish.
