Volcanic opening.
Pours pitch black with a large, dark tan head.
Nose shows hefty coffee, rich roasted malt and oatmeal. Very tempting!
Similar flavours: rich roasted malt characters, espresso and earthy sweet coffee. A nice amount of underlying sweetness too.
Great creamy carbonation.
Amazing how much roasted complexity while keeping things approachable. Ridiculously drinkable.

Watch out when you open this beer. I got a real gusher when i opened the bottle. Lucky enough the Struise chalice was near.

I got this bottle from my good beerbuddy Dgilks! Thanks my friend!

The head is enourmous but to expect after the gusher. The head disappears after a short while leaving a little lacing. This smells like a cold coffee, nothing wrong with that. Fluid is pitchblack. There is something in the smell which is unpleasant, can't really tell what it is.

Cabonation in the mouth when you drink the beer. The coffee is all over the place and i sense some spices.

Overaal a decent beer but it needs some extra alcohol. Thanks again David!

Bottled May 12, From beer cartel.

Big pffft on opening. Pours a massive three finger head, over black body. Head dies to suds. Lacing everywhere.

Intense aromas, mainly of sweet coffee liquer chocolate, rather than coffee.

Taste is all roasted malt and strong coffee. Significant bitterness to back it up.

Mouthfeel quite carbonated - almost too much. Medium bodied.

Good beer, flying under radar at present.

Pours a dark brown colour with a glimmer up to the light. Gorgeous head colour - umber with a slight palour to it. Bit too generous, but sinking steadily. Looks great.

Strong, bitey coffee aroma. Fruity coffee beans with pepper, mint and a hint of cocoa at the back. Bit unsubtle, like it's all just wham! in the face with coffee, some more sweetness would certainly raise the intrigue.

Taste is similar in character, but more mellowed out. Roasty and a touch of charry burnt bitterness upfront smooths out to a roasty, slightly bitter mid-palate with a lingering coffee flavour. Touch of caramel comes through then, to add sweetness, before peppery bite of a strong Italian roast on the back, and a touch of leathery licorice. Very pleasant journey, nice coffee notes but very well blended together as well.

Body is OK, but there's a sharpness on the tongue which I can only really put down to fizz. Given the size of the head I think that's fair.

Nice after-dinner stout; I really wish I'd served this a couple of weeks ago with my beeramisu. Drank this with a bowl of Café Grande icecream and it went brilliantly well.

Another brew from BIF bluebetty and pours a dark non see through kola hue and with nice carbonation leaves a two finger head and lacing everywhere its a nice looker and has smells of dark expresso, boozy alcohol, cherries and rich chocolate liqueor, the mouthfeel is full bodied, round and creamy and has tastes of dark cocoa, strong black coffee, creamy vanilla,a slight touch of alcohol but not much and finished with a cherry bitterness and overall i like this stout with its full body and coffee flavour as before sampling i was worried it might be abit too coffeeish but its nicely balanced and would drink again cheers.

Pitch black with a big, rocky, tan head. Fair head retention. Very dark.

Fresh brewed coffee just like when you wake up. Great coffee aroma with some roast and a mild fruitiness. Great.

Coffee, coffee, coffee with just a hint of chocolate and malt. Plenty more coffee to round out the palate.

Way overcarbonated with a medium body being overtaken by champagne like effervescence.

A truly delightful stout packed full of coffee flavour but without being overbearing. Delicious.
