Had this beer most recently at Dinosaur BBQ in Newark. This is a perfect DIPA. I have had heady, hop slam, and sucks in large quantities recently and this beer is every bit their equal. Only complaint is why can the good folks at Kane not bottle this stuff??? Absolutely world class!

About as good as an IPA can be. A good representative of the "East Coast" style. Heady, sharp taste; nice aroma; good texture and flavor. Beautiful amber color. Always a favorite in a growler to share with family and friends. Especially enjoy in a tulip glass or one of the new IPA glasses I'm expecting from Santa!

Poured from a half growler into a Sierra Nevada IPA glass.
Appearance: Beautiful golden yellow Two finger head, and great lacing. A steady stream of carbonation can be seen up the middle.
Smell: Hoppy goodness. Plenty of Grapefruit, pineapple and, in the background, pine.
Taste: Just like the aroma. Grapefruit and pineapple up front. A subtle pine follows up the fruit.
Mouthfeel: Great carbonation. The flavors linger with the fruit fading first and the pine staying through the finish.
Overall: This is a top tier DIPA. It is beautifully constructed and can more than hang with any of the big boys. If you get a chance to try this, do not pass it up.

Overhead pours a medium amber color, and, like all of Kane's beers, is unfiltered, providing a little haze. There's a healthy head with good retention and very good lacing.
The aroma is powerful and inviting. The many hop additions of Columbus, Simcoe, Amarillo and Centennial hops provide an aroma that is dominated by tropical fruit and citrus hops with some pine sweet malt.
The huge hop presence comes through in the taste as well, with a powerful juicy hop explosion early on the palate, balanced out with some sweet malts, grapefruit, and again, pine. Bitterness is present but not overly so; this is all about the fresh, juicy hops.
This beer is medium-bodied, smooth with a semi-sweet finish and medium carbonation.
Overall, this is one of the best Imperial IPAs, or beers in general, around. The 8.2% ABV is covered well with a powerful juicy, citrusy hop flavor that is up there with the best. If you live in New Jersey, take advantage of the fact that one of your local breweries brews this beer and keep an eye out for it.
