Bottle pour at the pre-FWIBF bottle share held at the Adelaide Inn in Paso Robles, CA.
2012 vintage.
Pours a murky reddish-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with malt, dark fruit, brown sugar, and slight bourbon aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour malt, dark fruit, and brown sugar flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of wood bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a slight sourness all around that isn't bad if it wasn't intended.
