A - pours a deep midnight black with hints of chocolate brown. Thick dark tan foam. Eventually fizzles out leaving lots of spotty lacing.
S - aroma is dense, decadent, and just cries out 'desert'. Smells like a coffee with creamer. Sugary lactose is strong. Malty notes create a milk chocolate character. Roast notes seem to come from the added coffee. Malt seems more silky and sweet.
T - sweet flavors on the tip of the tongue. Silky milk chocolate. Sweet cream. Roasty coffee beans come through in the center for balance. The deep coffee flavors entwine with the malty flavors. Backend is more sweet with a faint herbal hop character.
M - silky. Creamy. Medium bodied close to full. High tight scrubbing bubbles of carbonation from the bottle conditioning.
O - nice beer. Definitely in the desert beer category. Bit too sweet for me, might have been better for me in a smaller format or paired with food.

Newest corked and caged from Kane Brewing, white label with in collaboration with Rook Coffee roasters and their logo on it as well. Really elegant bottle. Poured into a snifter straight from the fridge.
A: Pours a rather large head with an average pour. Uneven mocha head with some cheese holes throughout, jet black. Nice looking porter.
S: Cofee, coffee, coffee. Some dark chocolate and roasted malts. Exactly what you'd expect from a coffee porter. Really heavy on the coffee.
T: Coffee once again. About as coffee forward as I've ever tasted. Simply delicious. Love the fresh bean taste. Almost like you ran a porter through a french press.
M: Creamy. I think the lactate suits this nicely. Almost like the cream in the coffee.
O: If you have to, trade for it. Kane doesn't disappoint and this is no different.

Tasting notes from last night at Cork City in Hoboken, NJ. Draft.
A: Opaque brown with a beige head that settles to a thin veil of foam. Some lacing.
S: Coffee, coffee, coffee.
T: Strong overtones of coffee. Modestly bitter. A hint of chocolate. Mocha. Some sweeter notes on the finish including vanilla, birch beer.
M: Round and smooth. Minimal carbonation.
D: Extremely drinkable at 9%. No hint of booze. One of the more coffee forward porters I've tasted. Absolutely delicious.
