A - hazy golden yellow liquid. a huge mouse-like, snow white foam on top. great rentention, seems to last for days. a thick wall of lacing is left on the glass as it very slowly recedes.

S - aroma is soft, sort of muted. notes of honeycomb, cereal grains, and black pepper. lemons and limes.

T - grainy with notes of cracked wheat. surprisingly high bitterness. lots of citrus notes, bitter orange peel, lime leafs, lemony acid.

M - light body, mix of watery and grainy texture. super high effervescent carbonation.

O - interesting take on a saison, though i probably should have cracked it open while it was still warmer out, i feel i would have enjoyed it a bit more since it was so light. but overall it was tasty.

Alright Kane Brewing, where you been all my beer-drinking life? Your Saison is stellar- giving a dry efforvescence with a spicy and earthy backbone and supporting cracker malts with a decoration of fruit- you're singing an authentic Belgian tone. But let's probe a bit deeper...

Apiary Farmhouse pours with a cloudy goldenrod hue and a back-light that's just a degree off of orange juice. Its creamy-textured and ivory-colored head is lofty, lightened of creamy structure even as it recedes into a fluid settling, trailing with fingerling lace.

Spicy-sweet in its initial aromas, a waft of fruit and pepper ensue, decorated with apricot, orange, an apple while white pepper, mint and mild cumin offer a balanced nose. All this simmers on the nose while soft white bread and toasted wafer give support and richness.

Yet its taste starts the same as its aromas trail- Biscuity sweet with fresh baked bread, dry wafers and shortbread. But that's all short as the influx of fruit and spice defines the bulk of taste in the middle. A melange of lemons, apples, apricots and oranges all swirl on the palate while that earthy balance of pepper, mint and hay finishes its taste.

Subdued in its mouthfeel, the ale takes a step back. Even though it shows high effervescence to the eye, it is only partially zesty on the palate while a creamy notion also transpires. This limits the beer's ultra-dry character gives a feel of normal Belgian Pale Ales. Getting past its only weakness, the ale trails with a slight straw astringency, playful grassy bitterness and wine-like acidity.

Not quite a home-run, Kane Brewing hits a warning track fly as it does so many things that are correct for the style, but not pushing it further leaves its just shy of the classic and authentic Belgian Saisons.

A nice hazy straw yellow with 2 fingers of fluffy white head, great lacing left behind. Smells citrusy, orange peel, lemon zest, pepper, honey, and Belgian style yeast.
The flavor is nice and refreshing. Malty with a subtle sweetness and refreshing citrus twist. A nice peppery yeast profile in the finish
Medium body with a nice amount of carbonation.
A pretty damn decent saison. On par with some of the fantome one offs I've had. Glad to have these guys locally.

This beer comes in a hazy golden color.

The beer is of honey, floral, grassiness, wheat, lots of citrus. Some spice. The beer hits on saison notes without going somewhere with theme.

Somehow this beer lacks in complexity. Standing up the brett version, this beer was a bit of a disappointment.

Received in a trade and poured into my Duvel tulip. This is Batch 1.

A - Pours a very nice crystal clear golden honey hue with a big, rocky three finger head that fades to leave thick side lacing and a great blanket. Spot on for the style

S - Aromas of floral hops, light funk, very nice slightly spicy saison yeast characteristics, grassy hops. Very floral, great honey notes (without the cloy sweetness), and grass.

T - Taste is not quite as good as the nose. Its similar but not nearly as powerful as the nose. More of that very good, rich honey notes (clearly a high quality honey), light spice notes (not really peppercorns, just a spicy saison), very faint corriander notes. Nice grass and floral notes, with a nice very mild bitter finish that works nice with the light honey sweetness.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, alcohol is hidden VERY well. Hard to believe this is over 7% ABV.

O - Overall, this is a very well done saison. The top notch honey is delicous here with the light bitter finish. Unlike the majority of saisons, this one does not really have the lemon and peppercorn notes. Instead it is pleasantly earthy, floral, and high quality honey.
