This beer pours a jet black, with a brownish head. Maybe some faint ruby highlights. The aroma is espresso, coffee bean, chocolate, and caramel.

The taste is very balanced, between a rich, roasted coffee flavor and a slight hop bill. There are notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee, and nuts. Mouthfeel is creamy and full. Not quite as powerful as the best RISes out there, but this is a good example of the style.

Poured a deep black hue with a one finger creamy tan head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured an upfront burnt grain, with some trace coffee, dark chocolate and caramel elements.

The taste was rather robust with a nice bitter coffee and mild caramel malt sweetness. Little to no alcohol character.

The mouthfeel was full and a bit chewy even.

Overall a very quaffable RIS. The relatively low ABV kept this beer very drinkable and should be accessible to most.

Black Forest brews some delicious Amber.

Seriously I do like this stout on Friday nights when I meet my wife at the BF for happy hour I always start with an Imperial Stout but I switch to Amber for it;s drinkability.

Granted, stout is not for knocking back a few, but one of these at a sitting is all I can take.

It pours a deep brown with a sliver of a tan head with minimal lacing. It's mouthfeel is much lighter than expected for a stout but still creamy and thick. The coffee/chocolate flavor almost feels more like a porter than a stout.

Overall: I suggest you do the same as I do, order one when you arrive and then switch to the delicious Amber.

Pours dark translucent chocolate brown with some moderately creamy head. The lacing is OK. Smells of roasted malts, hops, and some coffee. Taste follows with roasty malts and then bitter coffee aftertones. Mouthfeel was rather dry and lingering, I would have liked a fuller taste and a cleaner finish. It was a decent stout, was looking for more dimensions though.

This poured a beautiful black with rubyish tone on the edges in the light.
Head was a nice deep tan decently thick and nice lacing.
Served a bit too cold. but OK
Smell of roasted malt.
Taste was a great blend of coffee, roasted malt, a hint of sweetness, and I could of sworn a hint of nutiness in the aftertaste as it warmed up. This was a great tasting stout.
Mouthfeel I was very disappointed in. I noticed it was much too carbonated than it should have been, and a bit too thin.
Drinkability was tough. Although it tasted amazing, the mouthfeel was too much of a distraction.

I tried this Cask at Long Islands Real Ale Festival. This is a big compliment to Black Forest because I would say they had the second best tasting Cask at the Festival, next to Blue Points Hoptical Illusion. This was a very dark stout and was absolutely full of flavor. The Flavor was an incredible balance of burnt and not too burnt. I do not know if Black Forest Generally offers this beer but I would certainly say that it is worth a try
