Rather heavy and viscous for the style, more like a Belgian tripel than a true Hefeweizen. Color is fine. Taste has lots of clove and spicier phenol, a little banana, but just a little too spicy for me.

The beer appeared an opaque yellow with a light fluffy white head that dissipated too quickly, except for a thin ring that remained. No lacing. There was some noticeable carbonation flowing to top of the glass and the head is easily recreated.

The beer gave off a very lemon aroma, which was very much unexpected and really overpowered any other aroma that the beer might be giving off.

The taste of the beer was pretty weak and somewhat dominated by lemon, which was not expected, but I guess after smelling it, I should have suspected that the lemon would dominate. I didn't really get any flavor that one would expect from the style.

The beer had a light feel to it, as expected, but did feel somewhat over carbonated. The beer was smooth and given the other drawbacks, pretty easy to drink. Overall, a less than average Hefe. I am guessing from the other reviews that maybe I just got a batch that was not up to the usual standard, but I doubt that even on its best day that it compares to the top rated Hefe's, but I could be wrong.

This is THE beer I go to the Black Forest in Farmingdale, New York to drink! (The Captain Crunch Chicken's pretty good too!)

This is a misty orange unfiltered wheat beer with a nice foamy head. Taste has a bit of breadyness due to the yeast

Directly translated this beer means "yeast wheat". It must be made with at least 50% wheat malt & from its apperance in the glass, which is meant to be cloudy. Wheat malt provides the soft malt character while the yeast is responsible for the flavor, sort of banana/clove, with just enough hops to hold back the sweetness.

A - cloudy almost red lemon butter or frozen honey. Head is very tiny and thin head. No lacing.

S - very sweet. Banana cotton candy. Pastries

T - not as sweet as the smells, but that's good. Buttered croissant. Frosting. Clove.

M - spritz of fizzynes. Good.

D - good. Details to follow. Need another to be sure

A - Opaque, deep-orange apple cider. White head settles quickly into a light dusting (sub-par for the style)

S - Bright orange and bubble gum up front. Touch of lemon zest.

T - Delicious, tart nectarine is the primary flavor in the profile. Warm orange. Wheat. Light honey. Bubble gum. Water cracker, clove, coriander. The flavors are smooth, and wheat plays a large enough roll that you catch flavors of marmalade and toast.

M - Med body - relatively full for the style. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Tingly carb.

O - Great body and taste. Both are a little stronger than you might expect, but hold up well against the German flavors on Black Forest's menu.

Pours a cloudy electric orange color with a pillowy pure white head that settles into a light cap and left some lacing on the glass. The aroma is of banana and clove, spot on for the bavarian style. The banana and clove is less pronounced in the flavor and more of the wheat malt pops through. The brew has the traditional flavors just not the strongest that I have had. A nice full feel, creamy with tingly carbonation, not much of wheat edge or sourness that sometimes are found in hefes. A good hefe from a good brew haus.

Pour from a fresh filled growler served in a weizen glass.

Cloudy yellow color with a fluffy white head that settles as a layer and leaves nice bits of lacing.
The smell is filled with yeast, wheat, bananas and spices.
This brew is full of sweet wheat and mild spiced flavors.
Medium bodied with a refreshing feel and it's very easy to drink.
