Pours from a bottle into my pokal and its clear, straw colored, with lots of visible carbonation and a decent head/retention although lacing is minimal.
IMO this smells better than any pilsner (or lager for that matter that I've ever had. Dry spicy noble hops, lingering citrus and fruit in the background.
Everything in the nose is amplified in taste. The dry lager taste is spicier and less like sawdust to me. The citrus is lemon but there's another bit of fruit I can't quite place. Peaches? Apricots? Grapes? Pears? It's all subtle and perfectly balanced though. Best tasting pils ever.
Mouthfeel is light and crisp, perfect carbonation, I could drink the whole four-pack on a hot summer day like this, but then I'd be trashed because of the 8.1% ABV.
Overall very light and subtle and well balanced. Interesting and spicy and slightly floral and sweet but without pushing the pilsner envelope past the limits of the style. A bit too drinkable for the ABV almost. Great beer, worth the price tag (every now and then).
