Big thanks to JamisonM for this extra, i appreciate it a ton.
A - 12oz bottle poured vigorously that gives a deep orange that is slightly hazy maybe chill haze at 46F, slightly off white 1 1/2 finger head that fell to a thin middle and thick ring around the edges that shows a very coarse lace.
A - a very pale toasted malt, then into a fruity aroma of mango, subtle pineapple and pine is in the very back, not the most bold or complex aromatics going on hear, some what typical but decent.
T - whoa big flavor very bold that contrasts the aroma quite a bit in terms of its strength. hints orange peel and a strong pine right jab and game ending grapefruit tyson left hook. very bold flavors although not the most complex, they stand their ground like a fucking spartan though, although flavors of leonidas create this huge presence of muscle the alcohol is very well hidden.
M - medium to light body, almost smooth, medium carbonation, slightly slick.
O - this is a solid beer that i don't see myself seeking out but if were available i would not hesitate, i like the no fucking around with the hops. good brew can't wait for myrcenary

a-orange/yellow beer with lively carbonation. Nice white head, with tons of lacing down the glass.
s-tons of nose on this beer. Lots of different hops shine through. Has pine, grapefruit, citrus, and some tropical fruits.
t-bold IPA with a lot of the nose expressed in the taste. Good bitterness that finishes for a while. Great tasting beer that does not pack any booziness to the beer. Some malts sit back to let the hops shine, but give some balance.
m-coating mouthfeel with a semi oily feel.
o-fantastic beer and a good example of an American IPA. Better when fresh. Great year round offering from this brewer.

odell is really a fine brewery -- new to me. i had the mycenary first... which knocked me out. i am glad i took a step back here for the plain old IPA!
the bottle design and labels are awesome -- i need odell gear.
pours a lovely inviting light amber. decent little head, good and frothy, leaves some foam on the glass. solid hop aromas, mostly citrus with a touch of resinous pine -- again this beer says: drink me!
the taste delivers! very slick and well made beer. a fine malty brew provides a solid backbone, dry -- but the right amount of sweet to counter the heavy bittering hops, which taste fresh and abundant. the mouthfeel is full -- a good rich beer.
if only i could drink Odell everyday i would. excellent beer... great American Brewery.

Appearance: Straw-gold with a pure white, cakey head ~1/2" and tons of CO2 bubbling through
Aroma: Sweet hops and citrus with touches of roasted malt.
Flavor: Big hop bitterness up front leading a syrupy and grassy sweet finish that is cloying and lingering. It seems to border on a DIPA it terms of malt backbone, but not in the mouthfeel and body. Easily drinkable without too much to weigh it down.

Rich and fruity hoppy ale.
Nice amber color in the snifter. Lots of malt with a rush of hops to fill the nose with pine and flowers. Makes me think of the scent of iris. Pleasant in the mouth and well carbonated. Hops are very aromatic, with long bitter taste. Bit of pineapple and sour apples.
Aroma is quite outstanding and keeps the sipping interesting. Very bitter, but not into the abusive zone. A clean and well make example of the style.

12oz bottle into my Sam Adams glass. It poured amber in color with a full, frothy, white head filling the top inch of the glass. The head faded to a thin layer, but left some great lacing as I drank it. pretty nice looking beer of the style. Very nice looking beer of the style.
The aroma has a very nice and juicy hop profile to it. Mango, peach and pineapple all seem to come out in it. Just a little grapefruit like bitterness. Overall a excellent aroma, I can tell already this beer is going to fit my tastes very well.
The taste has a nice tropical fruit like hoppiness to it as well. I get more of the pineapple and mango to it up front with some bitter citrus rind like flavors coming out in the finish. Very nice hoppy flavor to it.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall I thought it was an excellent beer. I really love the tropical, fruity, juicy type hoppy flavors and this one brought those flavors out very nicely. They definitely nailed my personal tastes in IPA's on this one. Loved it.

Hazy orange body, bold tall white head, marginal carbonation.
Straight grapefruit attack to the nose balanced on caramel malt. Perfume quality nose here.
Mouth and flavor seem to go together so I’ll mention them together. Highly drinkable, very enjoyable grapefruit infused IPA. Not much carbonation in the mouth, but a decent hop bite. Just a very very solid ipa.
I really wish I had access to this regularly. It’s extremely drinkable, hits the hop/malt balance perfectly, and while perhaps not the most bold and flavorful of the style this one is just darn good.

Thanks to MADhombrewer for muling me some of this back from a recent vacation to Odell country. 12oz bottle best by 7-15-2011 poured into a Duvel tulip.
A: Yellow-gold with flawless clarity, two fingers of dusty white head, copious lacing. It doesn't get better than this. 5/5
S: It's a pretty pine forward aroma. Sweet pineapple is the stronger of the secondary characteristics. Minimal malt and non-detectable alcohol. It smells enjoyable but is fairly muted. I'm left wishing it was a little more pungent. 3/5
T: Medium on the bitter pine, sweet tropical comes on stronger here than in the nose, low on the malt. Pretty good but could use a little more bitter hop character. 4/5
M: Heavy body for an IPA but it somehow works. Carbonation is appropriate. Slightly sticky finish. 3.5/5
O: Good IPA. If I was local to Odell I'm sure this would be a go-to on tap. 4/5

poured from a bottle into a pint glass
A - Pours a hazy gold with a slight orange tine. Little carbonation rises to the two-finger, thick white head. Head stays intact to the bottom of the glass and leaves a few large blotches of lacing on the glass.
S - Nice floral hop smell and maybe a hint of grapefruit.
T - This beer starts out very smooth with just a hint of floral hops and transitions into a very balanced body. Hop flavor does not in any way dominate the body, but it is certainly there with interesting grapefruit tones. The finish is surprisingly smooth and almost all flavors fade completely away before a bitter grapefruity aftertaste emerges.
M - Medium bodied with low carbonation. Suits the beer very well and contributes to its smoothness.
With the exception of the grapefruit flavors, this beer is so well balanced it is almost more of an ESB. While this beer doesn't come out and immediately knock your taste buds off, the gem is the subtleties as crafters paid meticulous attention to detail. This kind of smoothness in a 7% ABV IPA borders on incredible.

12oz bottle poured into an oversize nonic.
A: Pours golden orange with heavy carbonation and a large, sticky off-white head with great retention. Maybe a slight chill or hop haze but it's transparent.
S: Pine, crisp malt biscuit and sweetness. Maybe a touch of grapefruit.
T: Pine and a dank woody character, slightly herbal and earthy hop presence with some bready malt. Maybe a touch of orange and orange zest.
MF: medium bodied, great carbonation, tongue-pricking bitterness and a lingering pine dry finish.
O: My bottle lacked any 'wow' factor. I liked aspects, others (like the smell) seemed just 'ok' and not really special or intricate.

Received as an extra in a trade with azdback(Thanks)!
A-Cloudy golden color with a nice two finger head and good lacing.
S-This thing smells very fruity and hoppy. I'm smelling grapefruit, oranges and maybe apple?
T-Just like the smell. Nice clean piney/citrusy taste, but also a tad sweet on the backend.
M-Goes down well, medium mouth feel.
O-Happy I got to try this, wish it was available to me. Now I'm sad I only had one.

Got a couple bottles of Odell sent my way via Patchmaster. Poured into 3Floyds pint glass.
A- Poured hazy dull golden color. Fluffy white head, with little retention to it.
S- Very nice IPA aroma here. A little floral at first but citrus is more present. Just what an IPA should smell like.
T- Very similar to the nose with the taste. Citrus and floral hop flavors up front and stay through the middle. Nice bitterness up front. Sweetens at the end with mild malt character.
M- Medium body, moderate carbonation. Bitterness that sticks a little.
D- First taste of Odell here. Very nicely done IPA. When I think of what I want out of an IPA, this is a good idea.

Poured into pint glass at 45 degrees.
Appearance: A one finger head that is creamy and foamy that is off white in color. The color of the beer is a coppery orange with reddish hues. The clarity of the beer is clear with some carbonation bubbles. The head left a little lacing on the glass.
Nose: Ah simcoe hops such an aggressive hop profile. Grapefruit, pine, floral bouquet. The malt is toasty with a note of bread and caramel. Other aromas is a touch of solvent and resin.
Taste: A grapefruity, pine, resin, and floral bouquet. The malt is toasty with a note of bread and caramel. Other flavors are yeast and a touch of solvent.
The mouth feel is astringent, coating, and, slightly carbonated.
Overall: The body of the beer is medium and the finish is full. This is such a good IPA, wonderful flavors. This is a good IPA, would love to try their DIPA.

12 oz. courtesy of LSUPT.
A lot of Odell's beers have very similar appearance. I just had a 5 Barrel Pale Ale just before this and they are almost identical in appearance. This is slightly less murky. Good 2 finger off white head that reduced to a white film on top. Good intricate lacing throughout.
Smell is of hops, citrus, grapefruit, hops, and hops. Very nice smell.
Taste is definitely of some simcoe hops. It also has some crisp grapefruit and floral flavors.
Mouthfeel is very smooth. Lightly carbonated for the style. Extremely drinkable.
Would love some more of this. A very enjoyable IPA that is perfect for my midday drinking habits. Had this at 2 PM during a Dodgers game. Cheers!

Poured light yellow amber with a very nice white head. The semll was light hops, and orange. Tasted very light going in, with a good balance of malt and hops. Very light hop kick for an IPA. This is a nice IPA. Refreshing for sure and I could imagine easy to drink more than a few.
Odell is new to Boise, and I am looking forward to some of their other styles.

A nice two finger snow crests a cloud of orange/applejuice nectar...
Smell is citrus with some wine and alcohol lovely mango in there as well quite aromatic
Hop bitterness really takes the front, some of the fruit comes through but it is not the citrus, I taste fresh peaches and again mango, these fruits are faint and hidden wish it were forward
Lends a medium to light body with a slight glacier melt feel. The carbonation is perfect
Not a bad IPA, wish the fruit were more exemplified as they teased me through but is not a bad drink for the bucks paid, I would recommend most of Odell's brews and put this one in that list as well

Been on a massive IPA binge lately.
Poured aggressively into a Maudite tulip glass. Soapy/fizzy white head that fades rapidly. Not much of a head on this one, makes it more difficult to pick out the aroma; faint citrusy hops mixed with bready, biscuity malts. Some resiny hop characteristics in there as well. Flavor is well balanced; citrusy/fruity hops, toffee/caramel sweet malts. Finishes with an earthy/floral bitterness with a slight astringency. Well carbonated, but wish this one had better head retention and a bit more sudsy body. Very drinkable IPA, but falls flat compared the other IPAs I have been having lately.

Pours golden with a white head and nice lacing. Aroma is hop-forward with a nice balancing from the malt; floral, citrus, rind, peach, with an underbelly of some bread. Flavor is much the same. A medium bodied, active mouthfeel. Overall, my go to IPA in Colorado. Love this beer.

bottle to pint
Brewsky's in Lincoln, NE
App- Another clearer yellow with golden highlights IPA. Nice one finger head, good cling
Smell- Very malty sweet. A good hop kick if you take a big whiff.
Taste- This was about as smooth as I want my IPA to be. Nice good ipa, Very caramel malty.
Mouth- Medium bodied with a medium carbonation level. Leaves a nice malty taste behind.
Drink- A nice IPA, Odells makes some things I really like. Malty sweet overall, not a big hop monster more smooth and mellow.

12oz from the COOP... thin off white head... decent lacing.. okay cap.. the brew is clear golden.
Nose shows fruity hops... a bit of citrus .. tangerine and lite grapefruit... hints of pineapple.... some minor pale malts that carry hints of toasty bread.
Flavor mirrors the nose yet all the hop presence is a touch light for my taste... again there is just enough malt to really balance this one. The body is lite/medium with a sturdy carbonation... This is very drinkable.. but honestly, I prefer my IPA's more bracing and bold.
I will certainly buy this one again as long as we have it available... but for my top IPA's I think more hops... alot more hops are needed and ramp down the malts slightly.

Appearance - Clear golden amber body. Huge white foamy head with decent retention.
Smell - Light hop. Very grassy. No malt.
Taste - Burst of grassy flavor. Hoppy. Strong lime peel aftertaste which I consider to be an off flavor. Somewhat clean and very dry.
Mouthfeel - Typical IPA. Good amount of body.
Overall Drinkability - Good yet generic. Too balanced, perhaps? Good at what it does, but not interesting.

A - golden with little haziness. Head was fluffy white and retention/lacing were excellent
S - very floral, citrus/grapefruit are also distinct. The nose is very pleasant and powerful but not overwhelming.
T - Similar to the nose. hops are quite floral and citrus. The hop flavor is intense and surely to please any hop-head but not terribly bitter like some IPAs. Some sweet malt balances it out nicely.
M - Medium bodied. Smoothness/carbonation are about as good as it gets.
D - very well balanced and easy to drink a few, worth seeking out if you haven't had the opportunity to taste this beauty.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a perfect pint.
Pours a deep, clear golden color with a big, rocky white head, clearer than I would have expected for the style. Head recedes slowly and leaves some nice lacing as it goes. Nose is lots of citrus hops with some herbal notes in the background, very aromatic. Taste, as one would expect, is lots of hops. Mostly citrus but really a little bit of everything as far as hops go. Tons of hop flavor and plenty of bitterness, but not so much that it is overwhelming or blocks out the grainy malt backbone. Medium bodied with a bit of a sticky finish. Dangerously drinkable considering it clocks in at 7%. This was the first beer I tried after moving to Colorado and has become maybe my favorite IPA. A fitting 100th review.

Pours with expected body. Two fingers of head that dissipates slowly leaving TONS of lacing. Low foam residual but shimmering. Lots of fresh hops used here. Pale amber. Pils malt? Low carbonation.
S - HOPS. American varieties. Citrus and floral. Low earthy. Some piney. Well balance across malt. Some toast but hard to detect.
T malty body that rounds well with a ton of hop flavor, again American with the citrus and Northwest. Biting bitter at the front of the tongue.
MandD sharp but very pleasant. Hoppy bitter aftertaste but nit at all harsh. Lingering.
Great crafting and well done with keeping the body of the beer up. A touch too pale. I would make this one a staple in my beer cupboard.

Thanks to my buddy for bringing it in from Colorado. Poured from 12oz bottle (no date stamp) into pint glass. Pours a clear golden/amber color with a light white head that lasts. Hops are very floral and herbal, just a little citrusy, caramel, dough, and there is a considerable sweet honeyish malt presence. Flavor is both sweet and bitter at the same time, as many would argue an IPA should be. Pilsner malt as well as a little caramel and some honey, with very floral hops that give way to grapefruit on the finish. Medium-bodied for the style with some slight hop oils and a solid carbonation level. Very drinkable and enjoyable IPA from Odell!
