12oz with pint glass - from 03/23/12 notes
BB date of 05/09/12

A: Odell IPA pours a very clear and light colored golden straw with a perfect two to three finger stack of frothy white atop. Effervescent with nice retention and sheeted lace down the glass. Looks fantastic.

S: Nose opens up big with pungent pines and is accompanied by some nice bright orangey citrus aromas. I get some stone fruit action much like apricots as well. Real nice fruity aromas that linger about all throughout the drink.

T: Tastes of candied citrus fruits, pine resins, and slightly sweet pale malts. I get lots of American C-hops by way of orange flesh and pine needle with just a hint of crackery malt. Void of any alcohol flavors at 7%ABV. Just light hoppy and refreshing. Nicely done.

M: Mouthfeel is lighter in body with a higher carbonation and real dry crisp finish on it. Some resinous oily coating to the palate.

D: A great West coast style IPA that is juicy with hops and super drinkable. Very Pliny-esque. Not sure why this one doesn’t get more recognition. It probably doesn’t astound you but has a real great balance and is very refreshing. I would have another and another and another…
It's a shame Odell’s doesn’t make it to SoCal. I enjoyed this more than the Myrc I think.

A: pours a slightly hazy orange-gold with two fingers of off-white bead that fades into a dense cap with decent lacing.

S: floral and citrus hop aromas dominate, especially pineapple and grapefruit. There are also some sweet bubblegum-like aromas.

T: the hop characters here are more earthy with grapefruit, pine, and grassy notes domimating. The finish is of tart grapefruit and only slightly bitter.

M: medium body with mid-low carbonation, this beer could use a bit more carbonation or a lighter body.

O: a good IPA overall with lots of nice hop aromas and flavors.

A: Beautiful light honey with a hint of amber. Great lacing

S: Tropical fruits, very slight herbal notes

T: Amazing, The fruit aromas lead one into thinking it may be sweet but it is simply balanced. Slightly underhopped by most standards but again it's perfectly balanced with little detectible malt.

M: Perfectly smooth. Each sip inviting another

O: The perfect go to IPA, nothing crazy, not a stunt beer just a great everyday IPA

Poured from a 12 oz bottle

A - Light honey in color, very slight haze, nice white head that recedes quickly leaving a thin layer, nice glass lacing.

S - Nice citrusy hops, grapefruit, very even smell, little bit of a sweetness in the background.

T - Extremely nice flavor, nice grapefruit and very subtle hops, not overpowering at all. A very crisp and dry finish, can't detect any malts.

M - Medium bodied and medium carbonation, very dry.

O - Excellent brew, a really well balanced beer

Wow...im not going into this like others...
The taste is simply just amazing for an "IPA". This seriously borders a DIPA like no other.
Piney citrus candy aroma...sweet, piney and candy taste. Its chewy, smooth, and satisfying. This must be up there as one of my favorite IPAs out there! Its just so good...
It seems like there really must be a 3rd coast...(Michigan and Colorado). I am begining to think they are the best IPAs in thr country.

This is a fantastic if not simply amazing IPA!

poured a creamy white head which left plenty of lacing on the rim. Man was the retention nice and unexpected. After the head had settled a bit I gave it a nice swirl and to my suprise the first pours little brother showed up. On the nose I picked up hops after hops, followed by grapefruit, tangerines and plenty of pine. The passion fruit aroma was plesent and inviting. Taste is right on with the smell. Plenty of hops for you hop heads and a nice amount of fruit such as grapefruit, tangerine, maybe a hint of mango and peach.
Overall this IPA was a very sessionable brew. After each drink it had the right amount of bitterness and sweetness to make you want to go back for more. I don't see one reason why I should not have a couple of these in my fridge at all times. Once again, O'Dell Brewing does what plenty are trying to do.
