A great beer! Pours a beautiful clear orange gold color with a very nice creamy head. Excellent lacing throughout drinking the beer. This seems to be a hallmark of O'dell beers. Wonderful satisfyingly taste. This is one of the very best IPA available in wide, year round distribution. (285 characters)

Bottle dated 11/20/15A at 40 degrees into shaker
Aroma piney, not too strong; weakens throughout drinking time
Head average (2.5 cm, aggressive pour), off white, creamy/frothy, slowly diminishing to irregular three to five mm frothy ring and layer
Lacing good – wide rings and curtains of tiny to medium bubbles
Body light yellow, slight chill haze, slight effervescence
Flavor moderately bitter and piney; no malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate light to medium, watery, lively carbonation

BB date of 12/12/15. Pours a nice filtered amber color. I don't find this strikingly hop forward like West Coast IPAs but definitely a solid IPA. Aroma of pine and citrus with a similar taste except I pick up add'n hints of fruit like peach and maybe mango. This beer improves as it warms up. Its well balanced and not overly bitter or sweet. (345 characters)

The quintessential IPA. Very citrus forward, easy drinking beer without being overly boozy. My personal favorite IPA that is on the market today. Ride that elephant!! (169 characters)

Pours a nice goldfish amber filtered and looking good. Nice head with great retention and lacing. It has a nice light peachy orange smell that is mellow but there. Taste is of sweet fruit, mellow peach and some sweet melon. The malt is there and balances quite well, I taste a touch of wheat as well. Finish is slight bitterness with a grapefruit pithy finish. Nicely carbonated, smooth mouth feel for the style, very enjoyable. (428 characters)

Excellent, workhorse IPA with a nice, pungent hop nose, a dollop of citrus too, and a nice, piney bitter palate with enough malt sweetness to tie everything together. Workhorse indeed. (184 characters)

Serving: 12 oz bottle (marked "11/5/15B"), poured into an IPA glass.

Appearance: Bright, clear gold capped by a tall head of frothy white foam. Leaves nice, lush lace.

Smell: Resin, oranges, herbs.

Taste: Balanced malt base without much sweetness; earth, mild citrus, mint. Finished clean and dry.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, slight oily feel, moderate carbonation.

Overall: Solid IPA; not quite as big as a West Coast, but flavorful and balanced. (448 characters)

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Slightly hazy orange color with a smallish white head. Smell is overwhelming fruitiness, heavy on the grapefruit. Taste is a mix of tropical fruit and some bitterness on the finish -- not overpowering. Nice IPA. (239 characters)

First had poured from 12-oz. bottle, stamped "7/2/15B," into tulip. Odell IPA, a standard-bearer when released, is now a classic and holding up very well. (155 characters)

Beer improves with warming. I'm a fan of the more balanced brews and while the aroma here is suggestive of that, the rest doesn't quite follow through. Flavor leans bitter and finish continues with that. Very easy drinking brew. I'm looking forward to more. (257 characters)

Poured into a tulip glass a uninviting straw-piss colour... alas, the disappointment ends there! Aroma opens with a slight pine scent and a the scent of fresh hoppy goodness :) .... has a very good amount of hop character and a Pine-citrus finish.... THIS ONE IS A MUST TRY!! (275 characters)

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange under a 1" white head which lingers and leaves good lace behind. Fresh pine dominates the aroma. Flavor is balanced with some bitterness and citrus. (184 characters)

On tap at PreFunk. Seems tame after a IIPA, but straight forward. Hops not as big as expected, subdued. More resinous than citrus, but nicely blended overall. A bit maltier, but not too much bigger than an APA. I would consider this a good gateway IPA, but not rated as highly as represented here. (297 characters)

On tap at the brewery. Pours a nice light copper orange. Lots of pine and resin in the nose. The body has a forward medium bitterness that finishes sweet almost with some pineapple. (181 characters)

Pours a darker golden color with a two finger head. Leaves a really nice lace on the glass.

Love the smell on this one. Has a very nice citrus hop smell.

A nice citrus taste with a hint of grapefruit. I like this one a lot, but I feel its not nearly as good as say Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA or Sculpin Grapfruit IPA

Feels light. Feels like a session IPA.

An excellent solid IPA. (389 characters)

On tap at Timberline at Denver airport in a traditional pint glass.

A solid but very average classic American IPA. Clean but too much crystal/caramel malt for my tastes. Not something I would seek out again. (209 characters)

Odell produces one of the best Colorado IPAs available, and there's no debating it. It is a classic American IPA, delivering all the bitterness, finish, aroma, and punching flowers one could hope for in an IPA. I don't understand the nay-sayers. Odell does it well as almost anyone else. (287 characters)

Orange in color with citrus aromas. Fine for an old world IPA but many others such as Trillium, Treehouse, and HF have passed it by. Front is bland, mid palate is too malty for me and the finish is bitter. (207 characters)

Pours orange in color with 1 inch white head.

Aroma yields lemon citrus, tropical fruits, grapefruit. Tons of excellent citrus notes -- my type of aroma.

Taste follows the nose. Big bitter grapefruit, tropical fruits, herbaceous quality, slight medicinal finish. Bitterness lingers. Reminds me of a stone beer that is a little more rounded out. My only complaint is the mouthfeel. It is slightly under carbonated for my taste. Classic west coast IPA.

Overall this beer is very good. I enjoyed it and will definitely drink it again. I can see it pairing well with Korean BBQ tacos. It gets a 93/100. (601 characters)

Big grassy hop nose, pours brilliant gold under a 1” off white foam cap that persists and clings, Creamy, spicy with some fruit, on the palate with hop bitterness balancing the fruit. Medium high carbonation, medium body. A world class old standby. (250 characters)

Clear amber colored ale with a medium sized white colored head.

Smells strongly of citrus. Smells mostly of grapefruit. Some pine board scent. Faint cinnamon and sandalwood.

Starts out mild with a lot of caramel taste. Slight pine board taste. Citrus taste and mild bitterness, this isn't a hop head IPA.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall an easy drinking IPA that won't whip your tongue in to submission. (407 characters)
