After drinking up at Odell's this morning, I came home and perused the old notebooks, looking for any of their beers I hadn't reviewed on BA yet; this was one of them. Poured a pale yellow color, nice rocky white head. Aromas of hay, straw and light hops. Crisp and light bodied on the palate, with hay, straw and light hops.

Drank one straight from bottle, and another two in pint glass. Either way, this beer is easy to drink.

Slight head, white that lingered longer than expected.

Generally light, but not a 'light' beer. Hints of yeast and citrus with a crisp finish. Taste doesn't last all that long, which is why I drank three to get a feel for it.

Light bodied clear light gold color with a moderate foamy white head that retreats quickly to a bit of light lace.

The aroma is bready with a spicy floral hops kick.

The taste is mild yeasty grain, very slightly sweet up front but dries out nicely for the finish. Overall there's a spicy hops accent that's pleasant but not aggressive.

Refreshing and very easy to drink. This will definitely go down well on a hot summer day.

Pours a nice golden color with a lively, gleaming white head. Nice aroma of yeast and sweet malt. More sweet malt on the palate, with notes of honey, light citrus, and a hint of yeast. Very clean mouthfeel, which allows for the sweetness to linger on the palate. Excellent summer sipper, I wish my brother had brought me back more than one bottle from his trip to Colorado.

Bottled 6.17.03. Hazy straw-pilsener colored with a frothy, pillowy white head leaving nice lacing. Smooth malty nutty, fruity and yeasty malt tastes followed with a smooth finish. Would be really refreshing on a hot summer day. Pretty much goes down like water but, the ales of Koln are some of my favorite, and this one is a pretty good replication of the elusive German ale.

First let me say that Bobby is much better on-tap than in the bottle. Sampled at the brewery.

A light golden color with a wispy white head. Lacing was magnificent with this ale.

Aromas of light malts, fruits, wheat and pears.

Pretty tasty for the style. Pears, Peaches and yeast dominate the mouth. Nice dry finish with this beer as well but no mid-palate. Very drinkable but a poor mouthfeel.

Overall, good for the style but not my cup of tea.

Thanks to prAna for this Kolsch. Pours a not-very-pretty yellow color with a thin white head. Light effervescence and lacing. Flavor is light and yeasty with a mild hops presence. Finish is dry and lightly sweet. This style is not among my favorites, and I don't think this one is as good as Flying Dog's or Blimp City's versions. Still, it was not bad.

Bottled on 10-13-02

Chill hazed light straw color. A thin and sticy ivory white head shows some admirable lacing ability. A nice subdued malt/wheat nose with a touch of lemon. There are some notable qualities here. A thirst quenching crispness and dryness stemming from wheat and hops. An underlying malt base that is firm yet delicate. And a nice little bready yeastiness to accent all of the above. Can picture drinking a lot of these in July.

I don't usually drink Kolsch style brews in the middle of January when the Mercury is dipping down to 0, but I just came across some beer from Odell and had to give it a try. Gotta thank Senior Shit and Jerry for the sample.

This beer was ok. We were coming down the mountain so it was refreshing. Smelled of bad combo of malts, but drank it. It was just too light with no complexity. I have to say I haven't had any real comparasions to the real deal but what can you say it's a copy of something.

I ordered Bobby on-tap not knowing what style it was. I was pleasantly surprised… it arrived a crisp-golden color, some chill hazy, the head was foamy white. The nose was spicy, bready, and surprisingly bold. The flavors of this Kolsch were substantial, notable spice (hops?), malt (bready), and hops (floral). This is a good, drinkable beer…

This Kolsch is one of the more aggressively flavored of the style that I have tasted. The golden color and foamy head give off a spicy aroma. The flavor has hints of bready German malt and is successfully backed up by a bold spicy hoppiness.

A nice kolsch style beer here. Good looking gold with a medium head that faded quick to lace well. A crisp clean taste with a bite to follow. Overall a smooth brew, not as heavy as some others, but a nice good brew indeed.
