My second encounter with this beer.
Rapidly evolving nose on opening the bottle including white pepper and a husky pine. In the glass there is in an amazingly beautiful appetizing balance of strong hop, huskiness and a honey like sweetness. A one and a half inch thick head tops this beer's light orange colour.
In the mouth the carbonation never dominates but orbits around the beer periodicaly. There is agaian a huskiness and a strawlike dry bitterness from beginning to end amongst much other development. This beer lightly coats the inside of your mouth but periodically it is soft too with just a gentle touch of malt here and there.
Like their IPA, not huge, not chest beating but firm and strong with so much character and development. Another total winner from Odell.

Bottle poured into a Duvel tulip. Dated 8-21-14, so must be a "best by" date since this is still July. Medium orange body with a light haze. Two finger off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly but leaves a bit of lacing.
Wow - nice aroma for an APA. Heavy fruit notes that seem to be a blend of many types of fruit including citrus, tropical AND a peach note. Very light malt note in the background.
The taste follows the aroma but I expected it to be a little sweeter based on the aroma. But, that's OK, the flavor rocks. A light hop note that is little more grassy than piney gives the sweet hop and malt flavors a balance.
Medium thickness in the mouthfeel and no obvious notice of alcohol. I really like this and will be seeking it out.

On draft at the Odell Brewery - June 2013
A - Yellow golden, tons of clarity. 1/2 a finger of head, and a little lace
A - Big and hoppy, due to the dry hopped process.
T - A big hopy pale ale. Well balanced, tasty!
M - Well carbonated, smooth.
O - Best Pale ale I have had in awhile. Almost - IPA-ish. Get some!
