Thanks Allen for the 6er!

Pint glass
BB date of 08/15/12

A: Pours a perfectly clear and light gold straw color pale with a thin layer of soapy white stuff on top. Loose bubbles give to some lower retention. Carbonation streaming. Some light whispy tracks of lace.

S: Smell is a real nice tropic mango and peach combo that evolves into more citrus peel - tangerine. Sticky pine comes through and the aroma becomes more floral with a nice fresh catty hop pungency. Some slightly sweet pale malts underneath it all.

T: Flavors take on much like the nose just not quite as tropical. Major citrus zest with more of an orchard fruit influence. Flowery evergreens. Pale malt sugars bring a dry bready cracker presence throughout. Upper-moderate bitterness here that packs a nice little hop punch. No noticeable alcohol. Very clean hops, crisp, and oh so refreshing. Fruity and light.

M: Thin body that is even watery at times. Some sleek and resinous hop linger. Nice dryness and crisp in the finish.

D: Quite sessionable and I thought aroma was pretty stellar on this one. Flavors are there as well but for me I would have embraced even more hop character here. Still a great APA none the less. Would def recommend.

Odell's make some good stuff.

On-tap @ Boulders On Broadway in Tempe, AZ for a Colorado Tap Takeover on 5/17/12.

A: Nice, golden-yellow with a fluffy, white head. Good lace. Head fades quickly.

S: Balanced malt and hops. Some fruit. Not much else. Disappointing.

T: So delicious. Fruity, piney, American hops followed by sweet, slightly toasted malt. Dry but refreshing. Juicy mango is my description of the finish.

M: So smooth and flavorful. Juicy is a very fitting adjective, again.

O: A really good West Coast Pale Ale with a weak nose. Another awesome Odell brew.

Best by 15 August 2012, which means it was probably bottled around tax day.

Pours very clear apple juice golden yellow. One finger of dense white head, slowly relaxes to a thick foamy cap, and leaves a ton of lacing. Quite nice.

Smells fantastic. All hops - grapefruit up front, with some pine in the back. Very light and aromatic, with just enough pale malt support.

Taste is quite mellow, with the grainy pale malts coming through much more. There's a gentle wash of light pine bitterness in the back end, but it's so smooth I hesitate to call it bitter.

A little on the flat side as far as feel goes. Medium-light body, just not enough carbonation.

This is my kind of pale ale - heavily dry-hopped, so it smells great, but without the bitter hop acids. I like it a lot. Main complaint is the low carbonation. But I could drink a whole lot of this, and I don't even really like pale ales.

Poured from bottle the day it hit the shelves, though the freshness box is not stamped on the bottle...weird. Anyhow, I know this is fresh. Poured to pint glass the beer arrives a translucent pale orange color with light honey colored highlights in the light. A decent 1 finger white head with little retention, and a bit of lacing. The nose is hop-forward with notable piney, fruity tones: grapefruit and lemon. Not an assault with the hops but more hoppy than malty, with just a hint of caramel malt base. The flavor again begins with the hops, with a more tropical fruity flavor than the nose let on, the pine and citrus are present as well. Mildly bitter for the style with a gentle caramel malt base. Fruity and sweet, though quite dry. Lighter in body with adequate carbonation. Overall, this is a seasonal release that isn't bad, though I typically buy one 6-pack each release and don't come back. Better options out there.

Pours a light golden yellow with a thumbs width white head. Nice lacing. A sweet, floral and citric aroma. At first you smell the rind of the clementine, afterwards the actual fruit shows itself to give it some sweet juiciness. A wonderfully layered flavor profile to this, moreso than the aroma had led me to expect. Some clementine and lemon, some grass, some florals, on top a bready, even slightly biscuity, malt foundation. A crisp and silky medium body with some decent activity to it making it very drinkable. Overall, Odell does it again with another great and unique beer. Very bright and refreshing, will make for a great summer beer. I was bummed to see Red leave the shelves but after trying this it softens the blow just a touch.

Pours a clear light orange with a big white head that dissipates quickly.

Smells of pine, grapefruit, some cattyness, and few lighter fruit notes. Pretty hoppy and pleasing nose.

Taste is light tropical fruits up front that go into a more stone fruit and pine middle before ending on a grapefruit and bitter finish with lingering fruit notes. Killer hop flavor on this one and has a nice balance in terms of bitterness, relatively dry.

Lighter body with medium carbonation is right on.

Absolutely fantastic pale ale, that is more IPA, but a bit less bitter. Great pine and fruit notes and very drinkable.
