Notes/Commercial Description:
A Golden Ale created by blending the final recipe with its own barrel aged pilot beers fermented with wild yeasts. Each individual barrel contributes a unique flavor from the wood chosen and the cultures resident to achieve subtle complexities that develop(ed) over time. A beer which starts sweet, filling the mouth with fruit-like esters and a mild spiciness, changing to a tart and lingering flavor reminiscent of grapefruit living amidst an earthy, citrusy hop aroma. Define flavor for yourself in this constantly evolving liquid expression.

750ml corked and caged bottle drank from my duvel tulip. of all the odell beers i traded for, this was probably the one that i was most excited about. thanks again to BOLTZ7555 for shipping it to me.

A- the beer pours out a bright golden colored body with orange highlights and a slight haze to it. the head on top is pretty large and bright white. it takes its time falling and leaves behind small rings of lacing. cant ask for more from this one. perfect.

S- the initial whiff brings forth lots of barnyard funk. very apparent that this is going to be a wild beer. light stone fruits come in next. apricot, peach, and a little plum. white grapes and pear can be found also. a little bit of caramel malt comes through and adds some sweetness. hints of vanilla form the oak, but no bourbon. very complex.

T- the taste starts out with some sweet caramel malts and a bunch of the barnyard funk that i could smell. after that it moves onto the fruits. pear, plum, peach, apricot, and grapes. oaky vanilla, once again without the bourbon. a little bit of alcohol shows throughout. earthy and spicy hops.

M- medium bodied with a little bit too much carbonation. dry finish. not sour at all. moderate alcohol warmth.

O- this was an interesting beer, even for american wild standards. i wish it had a little more to offer on the sour front. maybe i will trade for another one to see how it develops over time. enjoyable.

Pour is dark hazed amber with a tight off white head. The nose is a balance of wood, Brett, and fruit. Wood is most forthcoming with apple skin, light mushroom and tannin. Taste is much less balanced, stronger malt undertones, brighter apple skin notes, musky mushroomy brett, fairly powerful tannic flavor. Very strong carbonation, light body, semi dry finish with a tinge of booze but not too much for the alcohol content.
