Dark brown pour, kind of a tiny ring of head on it that vanishes. Aroma of chocolate, peach and oak. Roasted malt. Peach was tart.

Taste, still minor tartness, chocolate, oak. Warming effect of alcohol. Kind of a neat meld of stuff going on here, I dug it, priced around $15, not bad.

I was a big fan of this beer and I hope they give it another try sometime. The peach flavor was unusual and very interesting, and it was a great special release for a bomber. I snagged one a while after it was released and it was still good, so if they ever do it again I'll look for it right away next time.

Probably should have opened this a long time ago. Smells decent still, but doesn't taste very good.

750ml bottle poured into a Sierra Nevada anniversary glass. Shared by rudzud at a recent tasting.

A - Pours a muddy dark brownish amber. Small fizzy whitish foam that dies very quickly.

S - Rye spiciness is evident. Touch of peachy fruitiness, light funk, and some mild touches of dark malt and a hint of chocolate.

T - Milk chocolately character...some roasty dark malt flavors, touch of peaches - really not all that forward on the fruitiness, mild funk

M - A bit tart, medium body with a medium carbonation.

O - Overall a good beer. Nice chocolatey base beer with some fruity character that complements pretty well. Glad to have gotten an opportunity to try this one - one that slipped past my radar screen.

I believe shared by rudzud at my 30th birthday whale tasting.

Pours a light fizzy head that disappears almost instantly, dark murky brown colored.

Nose brings malts and... rye?... spicy rye I think, toasted oak, light fruity, a bit of funk, sour, of course nice peach aromas with some cocoa like chocolate covered fermenting peach.

Taste brings light peach and a bit of generic stone fruit, light funk and dark malts again, some chocolate and roasty flavors, little soy sauce though, little smoked charcoal as well.

Mouth is super thick syrupy, decent carb.

Overall pretty good, not amazing but a nice porter with peach and chocolate, a unique combination of flavors that blended better than I thought.

Shared with JLindros at his Birthday Whale Tasting. Reviewed from notes. HUGE thank to miketd for this bad boy.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a dark brown hue with a nice quarter inch head that faded to leave spotty side lacing and a slight halo.

S - Woah, this is cool. Aromas of well, peaches..and chocolate. Along with a very subtle sour note. For the most part though this is nice fleshy peaches and dark chocolate. Super enticing.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, solid amounts of peachy chocolately goodness! Almost like chocolate covered peach candy with some light malts. Subtle musty funk and super faint vanilla.

M - Mouthfeel is solid, nicely carbonated considering its age.

O - Overall a damn fine porter. Had this one for a while and was waiting for the right time to crack. This was a very nice way to end the peach section of our whale tasting.
