Appearance – This is a clear, bright orange in color with a beautiful, lasting, lacing head.
Smell – The rich malts and huge hop profile are perfectly balanced.
Taste – The malts have a tough job but just do manage to keep the balance. They are sweet with some nice toffee and table sugar. The hops of course are monstrous but well-balanced with some nice non-resiny pine, light orange, and good grapefruit.
Mouthfeel – This medium-bodied ale is not overly bitter and has little carbonation.
Drinkability – This is actually more drinkable than their standard IPA because it is better balanced. It’s not big but is certainly a double.

Myrcenary Double IPA tasted at Rodeo Goat on tap in Ft Worth, TX.
A: Hazy golden orange, moderate head, fairly creamy, nice laciness after settling.
S: floral, citrus, sl. tropical fruit
T: Citrusy, orange/tropical fruit, sl. piney hops. Amazingly sweet, but in no way overpowering maltiness for balance. Definitely impressed.
M/B: Medium body, a bit creamy, very well balanced beer.
Overall: Easily one of the best double IPAs I've ever had. Highly recommend and will be consumed whenever possible.

Have had a few times since landing in Houston. Most recently from a growler purchased from Premium Draught.
A: Pours a vibrant copper/orange color with a touch of haze. A two finger creamy white head rises, with good retention initially. That eventually recedes to a ring with plenty of lace.
S: Citrus, orange rind, piny hops. Some malty sweetness for balance. That is about it, I am really not getting much.
T: Well balanced with citrus, orange, and piny hops with the biscuit and sweet malts. A slightly bitter finish, but overall not much lingers. The balance is nice, but fairly simple. Not a bad thing at all.
M/D: A medium body with moderate carbonation. Actually seems a bit thin and watery for me. Well balanced, and not much alcohol presents, so this is pretty easy to put back.
Not bad at all. I will enjoy the rest of the growler, and really like the balance here. Though I feel there are better version of the style sitting on the shelves. Double Jack and Endeavor to name two.
