On tap at the brewery.

Very dense white head, heavy wall of lace. Excellent clarity.

Smells of fresh pine bough, pungent hop bitterness, and a bit oily, with hints of citrus, though nothing like I was expecting from the description/reviews.

The taste is very bitter, almost slightly medicinal at times, but soon enough citrus wades in with some pineapple and grapefruit flavors. These are missing a certain oomph though... like the hops were accidentally tossed into the boil 10 minutes early.

Soft carbonation with long, lingering bitterness.

Overall this is a good fix for the average hop head, but it was just simply not all that memorable.

Clear and golden. And inch of snow white head, persistent, spotty lacing.

Super juicy smell. Tangerine, orange, a little spivey papaya. Cat piss.

The citrus in the flavor is like over ripe mango. More tangerine with a little pine. Dialed back a touch from what the aroma brought.

Clean mouthfeel. Juicy, mouth watering. Sticky.

A great beer that runs the gamut with all
The dimensions of hops. Very fresh and clean flavor.

Appearance: Bright rich golden glass has a bit of haze and depth. A razor thin cover of white foam holds and leaves spotty lacing.

Smell: Rich C hops, west coast, citric with a bit of pine. There is a bit of sweetness coming through as well, but it seems like a heavy bitter hop leaf slap is coming.

Taste: First blush is pretty balanced with the sugary crystal malt base mingles with the oily hops, then the hop note starts to grow and overpowers everything. I love hops, but this might be a bit much, it burns a bit in the finish, which invites a cool sip of beer that repeats the cycle.

Mouthfeel: Heavy body feels slick, carbonation is a bit gritty and fine, on the flatter end of the scale.

Overall: Your daily dose of hop oils, for the next week, in one glass. A nice clean base under it too, makes for a real kick in the pants. The one two punch distracts you from the heavy alcohol load it carries, but I'm quickly slowing to small sips which burn my lips slightly. We might need a new category for this one, a Quad IPA. These dials go to 11.

Oh no, here I go again with IPA logic: if Odell IPA is very good, Myrcenary must be outstanding. I must resist....let my taste decide. There's 12 ounces to drink, so let's move on to the beer:

Glowing orange with a whisper of haze as it sits in the chalice. Topping it is a half inch of creamy head which turns to a lace in a minute. Still, strings of lacing cling to the glass. The aroma offers a hop sensation, bringing passionfruit, grapefruit, papaya, and a kiss of onion. Juicy and relatively sweet.

The taste is hop forward, however it "seems" balanced. Balanced and delicious. There's a piney hoppiness mixed with sweet tropical fruit at the start, and it sets the stage for the rest of the profile. There's a big bite of tangerine and orange, slightly bitter, with echoes of cantaloupe. It's a full bodied, yet the alcohol is hidden, it's very smooth, and it's very drinkable.

Sometimes, IPA logic does prevail. Like a number of Odell beers, I'd love to try Myrcenary again.
