White and milky head, reminiscent of real whipped cream - a full finger's worth that doesn't recede. Provides an inviting topper to a completely translucent deep golden beer.
Big fresh pineapple and grapefruit on the nose - one of the biggest I've ever enjoyed.
Bitter grapefruit, some pineapple, and even some cedar come through juicy, but close very dry. Increasingly bitter to close, which is mildly questionable.
Like the skin of a peach on the tongue - velvety, with a distinct juiciness beneath. Mildly resinous as well.
The look, the smell, and the initial taste are glorious, hinting even at world clasas. But the close leaves a bit to be desired.

Have had a few times since landing in Houston. Most recently from a growler purchased from Premium Draught.
A: Pours a vibrant copper/orange color with a touch of haze. A two finger creamy white head rises, with good retention initially. That eventually recedes to a ring with plenty of lace.
S: Citrus, orange rind, piny hops. Some malty sweetness for balance. That is about it, I am really not getting much.
T: Well balanced with citrus, orange, and piny hops with the biscuit and sweet malts. A slightly bitter finish, but overall not much lingers. The balance is nice, but fairly simple. Not a bad thing at all.
M/D: A medium body with moderate carbonation. Actually seems a bit thin and watery for me. Well balanced, and not much alcohol presents, so this is pretty easy to put back.
Not bad at all. I will enjoy the rest of the growler, and really like the balance here. Though I feel there are better version of the style sitting on the shelves. Double Jack and Endeavor to name two.

The beer comes in an extremely dark red orange.
The aroma has a bright floral, citrus, and piney aroma that reminds me of Centennial. A huge sugary candy sweetness. A dried sugary pineapple and mango, citrus peel.
The flavor follows with tons of similarity to Hopslam. A dried pineapple note, herbal, and floral hop note with a big candy sweetness, almost like the honey in Hopslam. There’s a light floral and green forest pine that Centennial offers, as the hop notes have similarities to Bell’s Two Hearted. The finish is quite bitter of again floral with a good amount of drying. Tinges of alcohol hint at the finish.
The beer is absolutely delicious and better than Hopslam because of the light malt and more vibrant hops. This has a best by date of 4/1/14, which makes the beer almost 100 days old. I imagine that this beer is better when fresh, but that is pure conjecture.
