Chilled 12 oz. bottle into a 33 cl snifter. Best by date 6.12.13.
Look- Pale amber with two and a half fingers of dense white suds that fall slowly to a tight cap, light haze. Ropes of sticky lace adorn the glass as it empties.
Smell- Sweet, mucho pineapple. Not much else makes it through; swirling brings out lemon candy and honeydew melon. Very, very sweet, but not entirely off-putting with the fruit accompaniment.
Taste- Much like the aroma, very sweet and hop-driven. Light treacle and pineapple, starfruit. Moderate bitterness on the back end with a touch of booze- rather than playing nicely the bitterness accentuates the booze and gives the overall impression/aftertaste of gin.
Mouthfeel- Medium-full, moderate to high carbonation. Chewy. Fairly boozy, warming and some harshness after the swallow.
Overall- Pretty middling for a DIPA; nothing I've not seen before and borderline overhopped, too boozy for my liking. If you're of the "More hops! Higher ABV!" mindset, you'll probably like this, but I'm not really a fan.

Presentation: Very attractive bottle and label with cool graphics and font with a flat old school look. Label gives a bit of brewery info, a nice back story of the beer, web info, ABV info, Best by date(6/25/13), and the Odell logo, which I believe is an Aspen leaf. Nice label.
Appearance: I allowed this to warm for 10min before pouring from its 12oz bottle into a 16oz snifter. Myrcenanry pours out a slightly hazy bright golden amber honey color with a solid 2 finger white foam head that is airy but still densely packed. Head retention was 4min 37sec before fading to a thick frothy coating and ring. Excellent lacing.
Smell/Aroma: Smells of an herbal mint like sweet grapefruit with just the slightest hints of alcohol and sweet malts.
Flavor/Taste: Taste can only be described as juicy with a tropical sweet grapefruit bitterness that turns a bit herbal with a malt sweetness to balance out the bitterness. Finishes bitter with a bitter slightly medicinal aftertaste. Alcohol is well hidden.
MouthFeel/Drinkability: On the full side of medium bodied with a chewy creamy mouthfeel that finishes dry. Extremely drinkable and tasty.
Overall/Comments: This came highly recommended and it lived up to it's hype!!! An excellent very well put together and well balanced DIPA that was more tropical than any I have ever experienced!! I really enjoyed this!! Highly recommended!! Classified as an American Double/Imperial IPA @ 9.3% ABV. Consumed 4/15/2013.

A- golden orange, slightly cloudy, white head dicipates into thin white lines, leaves nice lace
S- surprisingly less aroma than I would have thought, citrus and sweet tropical hop aroma
T- tropical fruit, like passionfruit, very interesting fruity and citrus. Dry malty backbone. There is a slight hot finish, but for being 9.whatever the ABV is I can't tell it has as much alcohol as it does
M- very thick without being cloying, very nice

Poured into a shaker pint glass.
Look: Hazy copper with a thick foamy off white head. Nice webby lines of lacing.
Aroma: Perfect balance of caramel malt sweetness and bitter citrus hops.
Taste: Rich and malty up front, a nice pure caramel touch. Then gets bitter right away with piny hops and grapefruit rind bitterness. Well balanced.
Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy, a tad sticky.
Overall: The balance is key here, and everything else falls into place nicely.
