thanks to fatbeats18 for sending this one over via trade!

A: Pours a very hazy golden orange with 2 plus fingers of light tan head. Head has good retention and leaves lots of lacing.

S: Citrus, orange, sweet malts, a pungent cheese/ wet feet like aroma, floral hops, subtle piney bitterness.

T: Piney bitterness and citrus rind, balancing sweet malt backbone, floral. Bitterness is big. Well balanced DIPA. Quite tasty.

M/D: Full bodied, pretty smooth mouthfeel, ABV very well masked, drinkability is slightly above average.

O: Good, not great. I definitely prefer the regular Odell IPA. Certainly worth a try though, and glad I was able to try it. Thanks fatbeats!

Picked this up just across the border (being a Wisconsinite, closest is MN for me) and was glad I did.

Poured a very nice Golden color, maybe even a hint of amber, with a very nice head that left some lacing as it went down.

Smell was a little lacking, perhaps understated would be the best word - it made me want the beer, but didn't knock me over on the smell side.

After tasting though, how this hits the mouth is definitely the best part (not that any parts are bad). Piney, strong but not overpowering, with some grapefruit in there. Higher ABV kind of snuck up on me one beer later, definitely something I will look forward to sharing more of.

Aftertaste was a bit bitter, but who can complain, not me anyway, it was a still lipsmacking, just lingered, albiet with a solid base.

Overall I would definitely have again. 'Nuff said.

I was so excited to try Myrcenary and it did not disappoint. They do not distribute to Illinois but I was able to get one through a beer exchange with a buddy. I hope Odell Brewing takes the route off Oskar Blues and comes to the windy city!

A: Cloudly, almost looked like a wheat. Nice head. No sediment

N: Great floral nose

T: Grapefruit? Pineapple? Whatever it is, tropical and bitter. Awesome!

M: Crisp, easy drinking.

Great beer!

A: This double IPA is a nice golden color when poured into a glass. The head is white, foamy and about a finger tip thick. The beer is slightly cloudy.

Smell: There is a clear floral/fruity smell to the beer that is pleasing to the nose. The floral scent is increased with beer in mouth and makes for a sense tickling drink.

Taste: The beer smacks you with a fruity, orange like flavor right out of the shoot. Holding it in your mouth reveals a strong bitter punch and lasting dry finish. The orange peel flavor lingers long afterward. The bitterness and fruity flavors balance well to give you a beer that is an impressive attack on your senses.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, maybe a little more creamy than watery. Overall well balanced feel in the mouth with a dry finish. Very good.

Overall: This beer is among my favorites and maybe the best double IPA I've had. Myrcenary will definitely be in my regular rotation.
