Pours a pretty orange with a melon colored hue. Cloudy and softly glowing. A finger of creamy foam to cap this beautiful color and it falls pretty quickly and leaves a small ring and cap. Some patchy lacing. Nose is grapefruit and strawberry. Has a melon like scent that is light and inviting. The malt lifts itself up to the nose only slightly with a touch of sweet promise. There's something leafy in there and I will have to call it herbal. Breath of sugar. Taste is light and has a bit of depth. The fruits are ripe and juicy, the hops are floral and bright, there's a touch of alcohol on the palate. The middle of this beer is malty but not bready. It makes the mouthfeel fuller that what you might expect and it's a bit sticky. Has a juicy and semi dry finish where this mysterious leafy taste comes back. It gives the beer an herbal depth. I don't what it is but I like it very much. The bitter stays in the aftertaste and the clear taste of the fruit juices and the grapefruit peel lingers.

This is one fabulous DIPA. Thanks Bill =)

12oz Bottle
$9.99 4-Pack
Warehouse Liquor - Duluth, MN

Enjoy by: 11/29/13 (3 months from bottling)

Myrcenary is pale golden when pouring from the bottle but takes on some orange hues when filling the pint glass. A mild haze makes the body cloudy but the tiny, slow moving carbonation is still visible rising to the thin ring of pure white foam. A little island of head floats in the middle while the ring leaves thin curtains of lace.

The nose is loaded with tropical fruit, pineapple and mango mostly. White peaches and grapefruit emerge as this warms and the fruitiness is a little sweeter than natural, a dusting of cane sugar perhaps. There's not much of a noticeable malt base but what is noticeable is sugar cookie based. The tropical fruit dominates and does a fine job.

Tropical fruits dominate the flavor profile as well with no one aspect dominating the others. Pineapple and mango lead but the peach and grapefruit are close behind each adding their own, unique depth. The malt base is soft but enough to keep the hop profile from running rampant. This is one of the more flavorful yet approachable IIPAs on the market.

For a 9%+ beer the mouthfeel is soft and luxurious without being sticky. Carbonation is active and keeps the body on the move while the bitterness is there but not abusive. There's not a hint of noticeable alcohol.

This beer has always been great and even at 3 months out I'm still immensely enjoying this bottle. Like I said before, the approachability is off the charts while still being juicy and delicious. I have yet to have an Odell beer that's even just OK, they're all great examples for the style, Myrcenary included.

Pours a honey hazy orange with a finger or so of white head that does not stick around, really good lacing

Smell is tropical, kiwi, pineapple, honeycrisp apple, floral, pine, big bready malt, caramel, mango.

Taste is nearly identical to the smell. Tropical fruits all over, kiwi, pineapple, citrus, mango, tangerine, guava, blood orange, pine sap, leefy green hop bitterness in the end is light, malt Is huge but works as a backing to the delicious hop flavor, solid sweet bready backbone... Nice stuff

Mouthfeel is on the heavier side of medium, light to moderate carbonation, slightly dryness in the finish.

Hot damn.... I am re rating this, had it at a 4 but it is much better then that. I only bought a single since the date was 11/29/13... I assume it is in the area of 5 months old... If I find it fresher I would buy cases if it this good a month before the date!

Dark blond with white head. Great fruity hop aroma, like a fresh fruit basket. in taste a very soft and friendly hop bomb. hides the alcohol contant very well. not an aggressive bitterness but a good example of a well balanced hop bitterness and fruity hoptaste.
