Sampled at Papago on 3/4/2011.
Pours hazy brown, low white head, not much lacing and no retention.
Aroma is like the Wild Primitive beers (saw dust, funk, and lemon) with cherries and fresh oak. Interesting.
Flavor is too oaky to be a sour or an old ale and too malty and fruity to be anything other than an old ale. There is a nuttiness and a lot of vanilla. Interesting combination, just not sure if the oak is helping anything. I suppose this could be a barrel of the woodcut series that went sour. Surprisingly good for how poorly thought out it is.
Body is a little lighter than medium. Drinkable and enjoyable. Probably wouldnt order another glass though.
Serving type: on-tap
