Not quite a stout but definitely no lightweight, Cutthroat is smooth and robust. Inspired by the classic London porters, we use dark roasted malts to create a deep, rich color and flavor that hint at chocolate and coffee. We named it Cutthroat as our tribute to the Colorado state fish – with its own rich heritage and unmistakable dark coloring. And while we’re big fans of small batches, here’s to the currently threatened Cutthroat population reaching mass quantities.

Appearance and Pour - Love the nose on this one, dark and inviting. Hints of coffee and chocolate, folded into the roasted smell of malts. Pours into an English pint glass with a finger of lacluster foam, which dissipates to a spotty layer and doesnt linger down the glass. Burgundy-brown and clear body.
Taste- Lives up to the pour, tasting strong coffee and chocolate maybe even some berry tones. The malt is lost though, and the flavors quickly fade. A bit watery even...
Mouthfeel - Lackluster. Its wet, but after the flavors are gone there is no warming sensation, no dry or bitterness. Nothing remarkable at all really.
Overall - A decent try, but there are others in the style that pack the same flavor profile and have a way of making it linger. Value-wise, at the 9.99/6pk here in AZ I'll be moving on from this one...

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
L - Pours a dark cola black with a tinge of redness. About a finger of cocoa/off white head that dissipates quick and leaves a generous lacing.
S - Cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, soy sauce, caramel, slightly smoky.
T - Follows the nose with dark chocolate, coffee, cherry, slightly bitter but more on the sweeter chocolatey end.
F - Light bodied, light/moderate carbonation, smooth and creamy yet finishes more on the thin watery side. Makes this very drinkable but other characteristics make this very sippable.
O - A nice offering from this brewery. A porter more on the sweeter end but enough bitter coffee/semi-sweet chocolate qualities to balance it out.
