Poured from growler to pint glass the beer pours a amber/dark orange color with a nice 2 finger head, good retention and lacing. An enjoyable aroma of malty sweetness, caramel, almost nutty character to it. Little hop presence in the nose. The flavor starts with the malt character and develops with caramel flavors, mild bitterness, and again a hint of nuts. Very tasty and well balanced. Finishes smooth and clean with moderate carbonation. Medium bodied. Overall, this is an excellent beer I need to drink more of, highly recommended.

A- Pours dark copper with a nice head. Decent lacing.'
S- Distinct cigar box/tobacco aromatics.
T- A very obvious black tea note dominates the palate. This is either positive or negative based on one's perception. Medium finish at best.
M- Heavy carbonation, but quite angular. Some freshness enhanced with some mineral/herbal character. Medium bodied.
O- This gets points for being distinctive in an easy category to get lost in. Don't know if I think it is more than a good beer, but certainly unique.

Poured into a CBS snifter...
A: 90 Shilling pours a clear, relatively dark copper color. About a finger of white head lasts for a few minutes until it fades down to a quarter finger of loose bubbles. Decent lacing on the sides. Fairly light and clear for the style.
S: Sweet, bready malt and a lot of citrus notes. A hint of pine resin hops. Not much complexity, a bit one note.
T: Sweet caramel malt, some mild hops. Very sticky and cloying. Kind of a watery taste. Freshness may be an issue here.
M: Well balanced, medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: This isn't anything impressive and doesn't really seem to be to style. It's somewhat thin and cloying, and certainly doesn't present anything interesting. A lot better options out there.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Ithaca glass. It poured a clear, bright copper color with a thin white head covering the top of the beer and clinging to the sides of the glass. Nice color to it as well as some nice lacing on the glass as I drank it.
The aroma has a mix of tart, crisp fruits and malty, bready, caramel flavors to it. I get some notes of apple and grape to it along with some pale, grainy malts.
The taste shows more of the crisp fruits to it up front. In the finish I get more of the malty, bready, slight caramel flavors. Pretty smooth and balanced flavors to it overall.
The mouthfeel is a little below average for the style and carbonation is moderate. Overall it was a decent beer, but not an outstanding one. I found it was a pretty easy drinking, flavorful and balanced beer overall though.

A beer I have a soft spot for as it was the first Colorado beer I had when I moved to the state.
Pours a nice amber color with a thumb and a half width of a just off-white head. The head eventually drops but a thin layer remains on the surface, with the edges maintaining the thickest leftover. Decent lacing. Aroma offers a touch of smokiness, nutty, sweet bread and caramel, and a little spiciness and earthiness. Flavor follows suit. A medium bodied, active mouthfeel. Overall, definitely a fan of this one. Easily my favorite beer of the style.
