12 oz bottle. Pours black with a smallish fizzy brown head that quickly goes to a thin film.
The aroma is sweet lactic chocolate, some coffee and some bitterness from the roast.
The flavor is sweet lactic chocolate with some roast. It's a little acidic with some vegetal notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, an OK milk stout with a few off notes. Not as sweet as I thought it would be. A bit pricey at $10 per 4 pack.

Bottle into quasi-tulip glass
Appearance: Opaque deep brown, almost black. Unimpressive, lacy, fine head. Head improves as it rests, very resilient
Smell: Milk stout! Sweet, sort of syrupy smell
Taste: Wow. Not complex, but a wallop of light chocolate with pleasant milky vanilla backbone. No chocolate bitterness at all. Is this beer hopped at all?
Mouthfeel: Like very decent chocolate, melting in the mouth. Resilient coating.
Aftertaste: Mild but slightly warming and pleasant.
My take: A sweet and excellent beer. Not overpowering enough to make a bad day great, but the perfect compliment to other quiet joys. This beer makes me happy.

12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.
LOOK: Black, thin but sticky tan lacing
SMELL: Roasty grain, fine chocolate, rose water, mild coffee, prunes, alcohol, light molasses
TASTE: Creamy, silky smooth, thick bodied, milky, subtle roastiness, chocolate throughout, modest hopping, big juicy kiss of alcohol, date sugar, mild spice, dark berries, faint orange peel, sweet creamy finish
This is a big brew, 12oz bottle took a while to conquer though I did not complain once. Seek this one out for something completely different.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Imperial Pint.
Appearance: Brownish-black with thin tan head and spotty lacing.
Smell: Strong roasted aroma, with definite chocolate, some cream, and touches of coffee and dark fruit.
Taste: Strong milk chocolate taste, semi-sweet, with sharper roasted layers underneath. There are light dark fruit flourishes, and a very minor coffee bite at the end. Some chocolate and cream lingers.
Feel: Medium-full body that is quite creamy and smooth, with low carbonation. Finish is just slightly drying.
Overall: This is exactly as advertised - a chocolate milk stout. Quite enjoyable, but I would like a little more bite and/or dryness.

The stout poured out from the bottle a dark, cloudy brown colour. Smelled of rich chocolate with roasty malts. Tasted almost the same way that it smelled; chocolate, malt, and a bit alcoholic. Left a lingering syrupy mouth-feel to it.
Would I buy this beer again? Probably.

Reminiscent of Guinness in terms of appearance. As dark brown as you can go without being black. Does not let light through. Smell that roasted malt and milk chocolate. It's dessert time! Like carbonated, alcoholic chocolate milk sans milk. Viscous mouthfeel. Somewhat of an alcoholic aftertaste.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams "Perfect Pint" glass. Best by date of 5/2/2013.
Appearance: Pours a dark blackish brown with a fair amount of rising bubbles. About two fingers of deep tan head that fade into a thin creamy layer. Leaves a good amount of lacing around the glass.
Smell: A very roasty and fairly sweet dark stout aroma. Dark roasted malts with big hints of dark and milk chocolate, toast, cream, coffee, burnt caramel, toffee, nuts, and yeast. Also some hints of vanilla and smoked malt. Subtle hints of molasses and dark raisin and fig. Hops are laid back with some earthy hints. A very nice rich and creamy chocolate driven aroma.
Taste: Like the aroma hints, a nice roasty and sweet chocolate and milk driven taste. Dark roasted malts with a good taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, cream, toasted bread, coffee, caramel, toffee, yeast, nuts, and some smoked malt. Some sweet vanilla and molasses sugars as well. Subtle notes of dark fruit including raisin, fig, and prune. A light bitter taste of earthy hops come in towards the finish. A very good sweet chocolate stout taste that is well balanced.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very creamy and somewhat roasty and syrupy. Alcohol is masked very well.
Overall: A really good sweet/milk stout. Good creamy chocolate flavor with a moderate sweetness. Really nailed the style.

Dark brown color, nice and professional looking. Mild light brown head on it, only about 1/4" in depth. Doesn't leave lace. Its a pretty color and juxtaposition of light and dark brown though.
Aroma was mild chocolate, thought it would be more impressive, but its still a nice breath of aroma from a stout that isn't all about massive roast in the nose.
Taste, a good, cocao and smooth chocolate sensation. Alcohol is amazingly covered up in the mouthfeel, at least at first, it does come out a little more downstream. Not really all that sweet. They got the lactose addition just right. I can't tell if that's vanilla or just a different kind of interplay between the parts giving it a slight bitterness at times (lactose and powdered chocolate milk?). Its a good beer, but its not going to rise to the elite level of chocolate beers.
Thanks to koufax21 for bringing this to the March Madness 2013 bottle share. Of course, a big no thanks to David Hurley, bar guy at El Dorado, for going back on the El Dorado's word of supporting our bottle share. These guys don't support craft beer, they don't support loyal customers. Grade A jerk.
