Poured on tap at Odell's brew pub in Fort Collins. Described as an amped up version of their 90 shilling (Scottish Ale).

Real nice hue in the light an orange amber glowing in the globe glass. Creamy light tan head with lots of staying power. Speckled lacing with some sheets also. Impressive.

Nose is very large. Giant alarm fire burn of toasted grain. Crisp hinting with a little bit of bitterness. However, it's not the most attractive smell, lots of wood chip and bark.

Palate hits crisp and zesty. Caramel mixing with a bit of tight hop burn, maybe some fruit hides in the back which is muted. Giant ripping grains finish, as it warms some toffee and lime hit in the aftertaste. Even a little nutty and very drying. The feel seems to be just about right, without anything cloying or taking away from the palate, if however wet, but probably true to style.

This is a pretty wild creation. I think it is very polarizing though, it may not be for everyone. I also think food needs to cut through this, it's a bit challenging just to drink by itself.
