Pint after an oppressively hot and humid Padre game. Just the job.
A: Burnished yellow gold with a long-lasting frothy white cap.
S: Orange, tangerine, and grapefruit with some passion fruit and honeydew. Faint malt foundation brings to mind biscuit. Lightly sweet.
T: An even blend of citrus flesh and rind, mainly orange and grapefruit, with a touch of sweet biscuity malt and a dash of tropical fruit. Firm but smooth moderate bitterness and ephemeral midpalate candied sweetness with pine resin. A little astringency in the bitter grapefruit rind finish. I'm unsure of the ABV but I detect no alcohol.
M: Medium body with upper medium carbonation. Dry and sticky mouthfeel.
Overall: An enjoyable IPA. Highly drinkable but I'd rather have Pineapple Xpress.

On tap at Blue Palms Brewhouse in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours a slightly hazy orange with a foamy bone colored head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with some very orange-like flavors and a malt finish. There is a medium hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a great citrusy flavor that makes it very easy to drink.
