Drove by this place dozens of times, it's been a fixture for years. Never really had the time or inclination to stop in before.
Lots of seasonal Christmas decor, kitschy and quaint. In the afternoon, there seemed to be an old lady convention going on, which the bartender confirmed was the norm this time of year. We sat in the small bar area, at the retro c-shaped bar in low slung swivel chairs. Around the corner was a small dining area, with a larger one in the back. Retro decor including beer cans, steins repurposed as lamps, and mounted antelope racks. Sparse but worn-in and cozy.
Service was quick and the lady at the bar chatted briefly with us.
Beer selection was limited to 20 bottles, no drafts (or half liter mugs). Highlights were Optimator, Reissdorf Kolsch, Veldensteiner Zwickl. Sort of a one and done type of place if you're not dining here. Can't comment on the food, but the menu had many traditional dishes available.

This is now I think the only German restaurant in Kenosha, the old one was turned into Uncle Mike's.
It is a nice place with old German decor. The main thing about this place is really friendly and good service. The food sometimes takes a while but the servers generally make up for it. The beer menu is kind of small but there is some quality stuff on it and some stuff available at least by the half liter but sadly no liters. Don't except anything rare but there is some good Munich breweries on the list. No craft beer just some macros and German beers.
The food is pretty good. I had a Schweinhaxe, I'v had better but it was still pretty tasty. The prices for everything are well on the pricey side and that is my only gripe with this place.
Beer nerds please stay away for this place but if you want to enjoy some Gemeutlichkeit and put back a few half liters this is the place in Kenosha to come. The German beer is fresher here than at Mike's or other places.
