Savannah Brown Ale is an American brown ale crafted with a rich malt flavor, balanced by a crisp hop finish. It has aromas of roasted nuts, chocolate, and citrus. The flavors start with a blend of chocolate, caramel, and roasted nuts and follow with a balance of resinous and citrusy hops.

What a pleasant surprise!

A: Thick creamy head with nice lacing.

S: A little mineral, a little chocolate.

T: Malt in the front, shivery soapy hops at the aftertaste. Quite a hoppy brown, really - but without screaming 'ZOMG 'Hopzorz!1!' at you. It's nicely balanced and not medicinal at all. The aftertaste IS a smidge medicinal though, an inevitable outcome of the hops.

MF: Round, not too prickly.

Had Savannah Brown Ale at Coastal Empire taproom on draft into clear plastic beer cup.

Pours deep red-amber with clarity and 1/2-finger tan head, with good retention, leaving sketchy Belgian lace down the glass. Big sweet malt aroma off pour, with hints of molasses, and grassy hop notes as warms. On tasting, big sweet caramel malt up front, with a little roast malts following, then a drying, hop bitter finish, still grounded in malt.

Another solid craft brewery take on the brown ale, beautiful and malty, yet sufficiently hoppy to make it American.

Nose of malt, earthy, metallic, faint nuttiness, bready, burnt nuts, . Taste chocolate, hops, chalky, watery, roasted malt, pine, slight bitter finish. Not the best Brown!

From a single can into a shaker, pours a murky mahogany with a 2 finger tan head and modest lacing. Nose is very nice-- vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, and predominantly nutty malts...very faint promise of tangerine too. Taste is good, but less complex...lots of toasted nuts, quite a lot of sweetness with a hint of chocolate and a tiny hoppy edge that gives the mouthful a crisp feel. This one hits the spot on a cool fall night...quite pleasant.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a very dark brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, roasted malts. Taste is hops up front, nutty, malts at the finish, just a touch of chocolate. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.
