11.16 oz bottle was poured into a tulip glass. Happy to have scored this marked down at Gordon's in Waltham, MA.

Appearance: The beer poured a one finger puffy head that has reduced a little. It is a hazy orange yellow with some clarity and bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: apples, pears, vanilla, bready notes, Belgian candy aroma, and I am sure the gale in this beer is giving a specific aroma too.

Taste: everything mentioned above and nicely tasty too.

Mouthfeel: dry, smooth, medium carbonation, medium bodied, a little chewy, and easy to drink.

Overall: a solid BPA that I can add to the mix, but last week was the first time I have ever seen it. Might have to go back to Gordon's and buy more before they are off the clearance rack.

look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

Appearance: Pours a very murky honey color (not particularly attractive) capped by an inch or so of foam; reasonably good lacing action

Smell: I had to look up "sweet gale" but clearly that is what I am smelling - it's a bit like an herbal cake batter, if that makes any sense

Taste: Doughy cake batter, with a sugary but herbal (anise, vanilla, plantain and green tea) character that builds and dominates the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body (a bit thick on the tongue) with moderate carbonation

Overall: Beers like this make me happy to be living in the 21st century and not in medieval times; glad I tried it but don't need to taste it again

Lively from the bottle.
Big thick beige head on murky brown beer, decent carbonation.
Smell is malty and floral. Taste is heavy malty, peppery in it's little bitterness. It's balanced and decently refreshing. The alcohol is well masked for sure, but this beer could do with a bit more flavour variation and depth.
All in all it's a good beer though. Maltwise it has a pleasantness about it.

Pours a murky orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, honey, and fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with malt and umami flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earthy bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with an interesting aroma and flavor from the Sweet Gale used.

Suprising beer. Nice bio-label. Nice thought to combine beer with gale, it gives real personality.

L: gold, reasonable lasting top;
S: the less best part of the beer; wet towel;
T: here comes the surprise, the gale comes through, with a touch of peppermint and thyme, citron;
M: lovely summer beer, light feeling;
O: respect!

330 ml stubby bottle, poured into a tulip glass. I got this into an organic goods grocery store. ABV 7,5%.

Pours a nice orange gold colour, with a thick head of two fingers, good retention and light lacing left behind. Slighty hazy.
Strong gale aroma, very unique. Some light alcohol smell. Probably there are other aromas too but gale overpowers everything else.
What a fantastic taste! Quite bitter and hoppy, the gale once again very notable, making it extra refreshing. The alcohol very nicely conceiled.
Medium dryness on the palate, medium to full body and just enough carbonation.
Overall a great beer, with a very unique taste, at least I, haven't met before a beer that tastes like that. Highly recommended.

Poured into a tulip glass gave a solid white head over an inch, colour is an orangey amber gold, slightly cloudy with yeast. Has really good retention and leaves good lacing.

Smell is crisp, with a solid yeasty base. A herbal bitter edge from the gale. Malt is pretty solid, fresh and bready. Some floral overtones.

Taste is an initial crisp bitterness. Then more herbal and earthy gale character comes, through. Makes a really interesting combination and has a real unique complexity of flavours, yeasty and bitter boggy and floral esters. Finish is dry, slightly yeasty, floral.

Mouthfeel has a moderate carbonation, medium body, refreshing, alcohol is not noticiable and it is a refreshing and drinkable ale. Carbonation is soft and makes for a pleasingly creamy and dry mouthfeel. Finishes really crisp and dry in style.

Real big fan of the flavour of this beer. First tried at the Beerworks, CA, and then again now. Not only is it a well-made and balanced Belgian Pale but its flavour profile is highly unique and interesting because of the brewing process, an interesting take on the style, encourage people to try it.

This pours a cloudy golden straw-tan with billowy foam atop of it. There’s a distinctly floral, honeyed, almost-pollen aroma. Flavor is light, delicate, and sweetly floral. I am not familiar with gale but I will forever associate it with this brew. No indication of the 7.5% ABV in the least. Light and crisp with a curious finish. This was delightfully delicious and an interesting alternative to hopped ales.

This is a nice, smooth pale ale. Sweet tones stay constant. Mild bitter tone. Earthy. Definite spice tones evident. More of a rustic pale ale and pretty good at that. Glad I decided to take my time to check out a new store where I discovered this one.
