Visited for lunch during the week. Sat at the bar. I have been here for beer many times, but never for food.
Overall, a good place to get a good quick beer at the end of a long work day, but not a destination for my beer drinking. It is located in a part of town that has somewhat of a dearth of good beer bars, which is a plus.
A - A nice casual place. Clean, not too dark. Tables in the restaurant do not look over crowded. Looks kid friendly. Business folks during the day, but the bar gets crowded with "drinkers" after work.
Q - Beers served in appropriate glassware. Nothing to indicate that the beer is of a lesser quality.
S - It was easy to see at lunch that as soon as the bar had more than four or five customers that service slowed. Bartender was knowledgeable. Readily offered tasters when I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted.
S - A wide selection of beer. They always have three or four Schafly brews on tap (I believe the business is based in St. Louis) Stouts to Kolschs. DIPAs to Browns. The seasonal (in this case a pumpkin). Always some local DC/MD/VA brews. But nothing too intriguing if you are looking for something new or maybe extreme.
F - The pizza was great, but they DO NOT serve pizza by the slice. So if you are solo and you are not ready to eat too much, then you will have to settle for an appetizer or a salad. Did not see a kids menu.
V - Beers were reasonable, but a small pizza (for just me - see above) was $17.

A qauint pizza shop near Chinatown in DC.
FIrst the food. Made from sratch pizzas. On the menus they highlight local, antibiotic free, humanely raised and sustainable sourced foods. And the quality is very good. I highly recommend coming for the food alone.
The brews. They highlight all the coasts. But they also have a decent local selection, but they need to update their big board more. Selection was pretty good though, and the bartender did a good job of letting me know differences in styles amongst the local brewers.
Worth a shot for a lunch destination and would be welcome by the whole family!

I have been to this establishment a few times, for both lunch and dinner.
Upon entering, you immediately notice the bar, it is pretty long and must accommodate 20+ people, plus there are table in the "bar area", as well as other seating. The place is casual, darker than most, perhaps trying to give off more of a tavern vibe, not so loud, but still enough to give it a good buzz. The place had a good number of taps, 25 or so, which tended to be focused on Schafly beers as well as other beers local to the area (Maryland, DC, Virginia). The others were of higher quality as well. All beers were served in the appropriate glassware. They had a wide variety of breweries and styles. The service can be hit-or-miss. On one occasion, I had a waiter who knew his stuff, but then on another occasion, one that did not and messed up our order. I have only had the pizza, but it is good, certainly not the best, but I keep going back when I am in DC. Overall, a good place to grab some good beers and good pizza at a decent price for the east coast.
