Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.
Deep orange apricot, with golden and chestnut edges. Nice pinhead sized rising carbonation along the sides, and a small firey column of carbonation in the middle. Head is soapy white and bright with, shampoo retention and flat top. Some minor clumpin lacing rounds out.
Nose is real interesting. Solid brown sugars and a real spice clove and pepper note. Some soapy perfume florals also. Quite an interesting mix, feels a little big and boozy though. Solid.
Heavily carbonated but playful palate, some club soda minerality. Mid palate fills with mixed notes of sugar and brown crystals. Aftertaste is very peppery though, almost hot stinging. Some mellow hop bitterness hits the finish which really accentuates the pepper quality.
Overall pretty good, kind of basic, but a solid tripel I'd have again easily, with some fun character.
