Nitro-tap at the brewery
Pours a reddish brown with a fine off-white head about an inch thick.
Smells of caramel and rich biscuity malts with some fruitiness and a hint of oak.
Tastes of caramel, biscuit malts, brown sugar, and a hint of woody bitterness.
Medium creamy body, very smooth thanks to the nitrogen.
A pretty decent BW-like ale with some nice flavor and aroma. The nitro suits it surprisingly well. It's not fantastic but definitely worth trying, especially on the nitro tap.
Serving type: nitro-tap

First had: on tap at the brewery
Deep reddish-brown color with a thin cap of light tan head that retained as a ringet, leaving some soapy lacing on the glass. Aroma was pretty much straight-up malts, moderately roasty, some distant, indistinct fruits. The taste was--you guessed it--malty, very malty, roasty and toasty, and even somewhat smokey, caramel, leather, neutral alcohol, light essence of ripe stone fruits and herbal hops. Medium-full body, somewhat chewy mouthfeel. Yeah, I like a good red ale once in a while, and this one was pretty solid.
Serving type: on-tap
