Review from notes when I had it at Max's (had on tap at the brewery too)

A: Muddy brown amber with lacing.

S: Pine and resin.

T: Lots of hops with some herb in it. Strong pine resin. Nice mellow mango sweetness.

M: Even carbonation throughout. Nice feel.

O: Their year-round IPA, but a knockout.

(this one had Mango Juice, cilantro and Pacific Jade hops)

First had: on tap at the brewery

Poured a hazy bronze color with a small white head that retained as a ringlet, leaving dots of lacing on the glass. The aroma was money...very nice and distinctive nose of lemon-lime, with an appropriately subdued malty sweet base. Things kind of fell apart in the taste, unfortunately. Departing from the lush aroma, the taste was quite malty up front, grainy, followed by an unripe mango skin bitterness, that finished with a somewhat metallic aftertaste. If this was an IPA, it was a messy one. Body was light-medium, and other than the aroma, I didn't find this one to be very good overall.

On tap at max's last night.

The beer pours an orange amber color with fairly good head retention and lacing. The nose imparts some dry citrus, cereal grain and light malt (this beer smells as if it will be fairly dry - which it is). The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, and while nice, a bit more hoppy bitterness would have been nice (the menu at Max's lists this as an IPA). Mouhtfeel is otherwise medium bodied, and the beer has a fairly crisp, clean finish. Alcohol is well disguised... I would not have guessed this was a 7% abv. beer.

While nothing extraordinary, I thought this a nice enough beer from this "new to me" brewery.

Big fan of this beer, it's everything I like in an IPA. Light bodied, and nice hop forward taste and aroma. Not at all fatiguing on the palate, but it's a pretty hopped up. A nice showcase of the Moteuka hop. I've had it on draft many times, but decided to finally review it. Always at the brewery.

The appearance is very light and a little cloudy, aroma.
Piny/Citrus on the nose and palate.
Clean mouthfeel and goes down pretty easily.
Overall, just a great all around go to IPA. I know they are getting a canning line soon, wish they would can this one.

The appearance of this brew is a solid golden color that is very cloudy with no head and no lacing on the glass at all.

The smell is very piney with a hint of citrus.

This beer tastes like a porcupine banged a pine cone on top of a pineapple, while an orange watched...but seriously, the pine flavor is over the top! Followed by the sweet and slightly pungent citrus that an orange has. Really powerful stuff!

The mouthfeel is a little carbonated with a very bitter finish. Does not go down smooth and leaves your palette very dry...and thirsting for more!

This is a very solid india pale ale at 7.2% ABV and 85 IBU (the website has it listed at 6.5% and 60 IBU but the "beerboard" at the brewery had these statistics for the beer). Not really unique in the world of IPA's but it is well crafted and good to see a local brewery pulling this kind of stuff off.
