Notes/Commercial Description:
Uh, we forget...Oh Yeah, this is a big beer. Mind blowing amounts of hops give this beer tons of flavour and aroma. Not for the faint of heart. The bigger, meaner cousin to the Hop Circle IPA.

Pours a nice deep amber colour with a thick creamy head of 1" that would have lasted over 2 minutes, but I couldn't wait to try it. Nice strong pine, wet grass aroma with hints of grapefruit, bread and a bit of apricot. First taste has strong resinous hops, then grapefruit and caramel malts hit the tongue and as you swallow there is the pineapple after taste. Read somewhere that this was at 85 IBU but it tastes lower than that. A nice balance of hops and malts belies the 8.5% ABV, making it a smooth drink with a sneaky kick. I could easily drink 4-5 of these and therefore would surely find out why they call it Amnesiac.

Pours peach orange with lots of suspended particles in a slight haze. The massive rocky head lasts forever. Piney hops and a bit of caramel malt in the nose, some booziness too. The taste is very hoppy and bitter with piney, eucalyptus and lemon hop flavors out front. A slightly roasty, nutty malty profile makes solid balance. Booze isn't incredibly well hidden for the weight, but isn't distracting. A whiff of diacetyl in the back. The mouthfeel is full bodied with a creamy carbonation. Long bitter, herbal and citrus finish.

This is a nice DIPA. Super hoppy but with a bit too prominent and characterful malt profile for my tastes. Tends to distract from the hop onslaught. Still delicious stuff. Worth a try.

look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 2 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 2.75

Appearance: clear, dull gold, turning to amber; big fluffy white head with great retention

Aroma: light citrus hops, honey, mildly floral, lemon

Taste & Mouthfeel: lot's of burning, astringent hop bitterness with little to balance it out - like just chewed a pile of tarragon leaves, but a least the palate feels cleansed...all pine needles and resin, without real character, and pithy; does mellow out in time, but still lacks any depth or really interesting flavour

Overall: a totally one dimensional IPA, bordering on unpleasant when it comes to taste, if decent in other aspects

Note: reading the other reviews it's almost like I had a different beer. may be a result of transport and storage at LCBO warehouse, as I had it almost as soon as I bought it. Balls.
