Appearance. Pours a hazy, dirty brown with a little amber and only a little light getting through. Just a small off-white head.

Smell. Yes, it does smell like rootbeer. A little toasty malt and yeast getting through, but rootbeer is certainly the predominant.

Taste. Unsweetened rootbeer with a little light malts. Not bad, actually. Different for sure.

Mouthfeel. Lighter body with medium low carbonation.

Overall. Better than I thought it would taste. The lack of very much sweetness was great. Worth trying. (515 characters)

The bottle caught my eye, but I almost passed this beer up until I noticed the Lebowski quote on the label. The beer pours a deep brown with a nice lacing. The aroma is licorice, maybe some anise, and some wintergreen. Spices dominate the flavor as well, with some chocolatey malt popping up. There is a slight toasted maltiness in the finish, with a hint of nutmeg. Overall this is an interesting beer, but not one I want to drink a lot of. (441 characters)

Pretty cool idea , combine a rootbeer with a brown ale and have a balanced dark ale with rootbeer notes on the nose and the finish. It works becuase it tastes like a beer rather than a sweet rootbeer with alcohol. The rootbeer flavours pop in and out of the beer flavours and frankly I liked the combo. Easy to drink and fully an original style. (345 characters)
