In hindsight mosiac might be a bit of an undersell...and here's why..

An IPA that looks lagerish in comparsion to the norm...clear, deep amber...did I mention perfectly clear??? lol

Lot's of pine resin, citrus, and hints of fruitiness.

Big old punch of hop up front as one would expect...the twist, which I loved, was in the tropical fruits...mango, papaya, kiwi in a flavour wave that this reviewer was NOT expecting.

An excellent twist on a style that has been there and done that

Poured into a Sam Adams Boston Lager glass...

A) A big white frothy head that leaves a nice layer of lacing on the glass. Colour is rich gold.

S) This is a ruby grapefruit bomb! Loads of citrus and tropical fruit on the nose. Some faint light maltiness in the background

T) Follows the nose, loads of grapefruit and citrus, hints of pineapple, mango and tropical fruit that cover that light graininess.

M) Dry but with a bit of sweetness upfront that balances out the slightly bitter finish. Well balanced, with a lighter body.

O) A tropical fruit bomb that delivers a boatload of Mosaic hops. It is well balanced, not too bitter, not too sweet with a nice moderate carbonation. A great, summer beer!

A: Seems a little pale for an IPA but has nice foam.

S: Light citrus.

T: Ok, this is where it gets a bit more complex…. Good citrus. Mostly grapefruit and (oranges?). Bitter as you want an IPA to be.

M: Enough carbonation, lingering bitterness. Maybe a little too much bitterness buildup?

O: A little on the bitter side of things but overall a good IPA. I wouldn't session on it but having one at some point mid evening could feel refreshing. So not my favourite, but if you're up for a little change from your favourite IPA, this might be a good alternative.

A: golden amber with orange; translucent
S: big, aggressive hops, pine
T: very surprising: bitter, green, stemmy, aggressive, not much else really ... grapefruit pith... like chewing raw hops ... not subtle or complex ... little maltiness
M; medium bodied
O: too one dimensional and "in your face" for my liking.

So this one is interesting. Its very light for an IPA, pale amber and frothy. Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus, apple juice, gooseberry, other fruits that merge together. Maybe some melon. Initial taste impression was an amazing bouquet of blueberry (as per the oft-repeated descriptions of this hop), tangerine, orange, pineapple, guava, gooseberry, and green vegetation. The taste evolves into pine and bitter minerals. I get a bit of the onion that another reviewer mentions but minimal spice otherwise. The malt is very subdued nondescript cracker. Therein lies the problem ... I think the interesting fruit flavors might linger longer and work better if there was some sweetness to provide balance. I have to rate the whole beer, not just the unique fruit notes. Carbonation is bang on but mouthfeel is a bit thin and almost recalls a lager, which leads to a hop slap in the face rather than a well-integrated hop bomb like this brewer's Amnesiac.
