Appearance: The amber liquid pours out with an impressive head that leaves a fair amount of lacing

Smell: Tropical fruit aroma, with grapefruit well represented in the mix

Taste: The malt provides a fairly neutral platform for the citrus and tropical fruit flavors; the grapefruit is apparent but could be bolder; bitterness builds, after the swallow

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A very nice IPA for a good cause; would have preferred the pink grapefruit tones to be amped up a notch

Pours a cloudy golden brown with a nice foamy head that lasts decently well.
The smell is a fairly standard IPA, with a foreshadowing of bitterness, including the unsurprising grapefruit used in the recipe.

The taste immediately hits with a bitterness, sorta but it's balanced initially by a bready malt. The grapefruit zest adds bitterness and actually seemed to me a little sweetness (like a ruby red). The combination with the initial notes also lead to a watermelon taste, and maybe a little bubble gum. The finish is nice and dry, the grapefruit playing all the way through.

It was a quite enjoyable beer, bitter without being overpowering, and accentuating the special ingredient fairly well, without it completely dominating the taste.

Glass: Patteros Creek pint.

Appearance: An average to aggressive pour produced 1 inch of white head. Lacing is average.

Smell: Grapefruit bitterness lingers in the background at all times, no real alcohol smell perceptible. Strong notes of peach and pineapple as well.

Taste: A bit of bready malts with tons of peach and lingering grapefruit.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with average carbonation. A sweet finish.

Overall: Like Jai Alai but with a bit of tart grapefruit and less alcohol. So good.

Limited reserve series 750 ml bottle served into a goblet. Don't let the whole 'pink' put you off this, I assure you it is a serious beer and one very worth trying - despite the high price tag! Pours a nice copper colour with excellent lacing. The first thing that hits you is the aroma - massive fruitiness, pine, and tropical notes . The taste falls into line nicely. The citra is very prominent, as is the pink grapefruit, which for me, worked in perfect harmony. Hoppy, citrusy, with a hint of sweetness from the grapefruit, and balanced out by an assertive amount of bitterness which leads to a dry finish. The balance is what does it for me, it could have been so easy to get carried away with the pink grapefruit aspect of the beer but they have nailed it. It is vibrant, bitter, hoppy, and for those who like citra, this is an excellent example of how well it stands up as a dry hop. It is very approachable and easy to drink at 6% too. I can't say enough about good this beer is. There is just such an abundance of flavour and complexity that makes every sip a true pleasure. Really worth a try and hats off to a new brewery for such a well executed IPA.
