Poured on tap in a shaker pint, the beer is jet black, with a foamy, clingy, off-white head. Aromas of peat and char, resinous pine pitch, roasted coffee, and hints of chocolate. Flavors are heavy smoke and heavy roast coffee forward. Very earthy and roasty. Bitter coffee throughout, with a heavy dose of pine tassel and pitch. Smooth, full body, with a rich, earthy, roasted aftertaste. Smooth, lingering finish. Pretty unique brew.

Roasty, citrusy black. It reminds me a bit of Rogue's Shakespeare Stout from years ago, but better. I know it is not a stout but that is what was brought to mind. Bitterness is snappy and clean citrus and pine notes. Well-balanced and well-made.

Not bad taste like a good IPA.

The nose is a great balance of coffee and hop aromas. The hop is relatively fruity with tangerines, oranges, very light grapefruit and maybe lemon. The fruit is mixed with a deep roast of coffee bean.
The flavor emulates the nose well with the roasted coffee up front. There's a dry malt and then a fruity citrus of tangerines and oranges. It ends with more coffee and roast.
This isn't Wookey Jack but Damn I like it!
