Hardywood Christmas Morning lends a cheerfully heightened decadence to our Gingerbread Stout through deep conditioning on locally roasted Brazilian and Sumatran coffee beans from Blackhand Coffee Co. Hints of sweet honey and oven baked gingerbread greet the comforting nuances of freshly brewed morning coffee in this imperial milk stout. Skip the leftover cookies and milk and awaken your senses with this delightful holiday tradition.

Motor oil black appearance.
Light carbonation with an above average body. Has a slick, oily thick feel.
Aroma is spice, coffee, mocha, malty, dry bakers chocolate and espresso beans
Taste is mildly sweet with spice showing up first. Otherwise it stays close to aroma.
Overall its an excellent dessert beer.

Clear and black, with dark mahogany highlights in a Pretentious Glass Co. Snifter. A thin khaki head struggles to form a solid ring.
Roasted malt is strong, but quickly supplanted by rich molasses, black coffee, ginger, and cinnamon. The latter two are significantly lesser components. Milk chocolate comes out late, while warmth invites an unwelcome guest, (vanilla?).
This is clearly a SWEET Milk Stout. The roasted malt is far more mild than the aroma let on, then the molasses and coffee are much more present then in the aroma. Ginger and cinnamon are here, mostly confined to the long roasted finish.
A full body with the texture of oily wool. Carbonation is fine and prickly. Alcohol is a tad hot for 9.2%, but is otherwise about as expected. Residual sugar collects on the lips.
As a dessert beer, one could pair this with molasses cookies or possibly pecan pie. While it is enjoyable, especially with extended warmth, I's a one and done for me.

Poured from bottle into pint glass. Poured thick dark coffee in color. Heavy notes of coffee and spice on the nose, taste followed. Heavy finish.

Gorgeous beautiful pour. Dark color, gorgeous thick rich tan head that sticks around.
Nice nose. Cinnamon, gingerbread, spice.
Very delicious. Creamy mouth feel. Very smooth, slight aftertaste, but pleasant.
I enjoyed this more than the others from this brewery so far.

Look: It pours dark brown with a tan head. Head retention is low.
Smell: It has coffee aromas with cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. There is a definitive sweetness up front.
Taste: It is quite sugary up front with cinnamon and nutmeg. There are ginger flavor with coffee. There is a bit of breadiness as well.
Feel: It has a medium full body with a sweet finish. The finish has a bit of bitterness in it as well.
Overall, there are some nice flavors with very smooth alcohol warming.

Pour had a head of quickly receding brown-tan foam covering a dark brown (verging on black). Scent has a delightful blend of coffee, ginger, gingerbread, cinnamon, and honey. Taste matches exceptionally well, a delightful blend of a christmas morning -- a bit sweet, a bit rich, a bit boozy. Feel is on the heftier side with a smooth, sweet aftertaste. A great offering to quaff on!

From a can, pours as opaque black with dark tan decent lasting head. Aromas of coffee, sweet malt, and vanilla. Tasts are sweet-creamy-milk-forward with lots of gingerbread and roasted coffee notes. Nice, but to me, a bit of an off-putting chemically aftertaste.

DATE: January 13, 2023... OCCASION: watching Black Mirror with Shan after a good week of work and so-so basketball... GLASSWARE: Citrabellum tulip pokal... sizzles out of the can, forming a quickly thinning, light brown, two-fingered roiling ring of head... its body, the expected coffee black... lactose, coffee bean, cola, browns sugar, cinnamon and some peat... a smooth draw, ripe with morning expectation and little hint of alcohol... some roasted malts provide a backbone... its first sip is warming, with heat at the throat, a dry, thick experience throughout--viscous and chewy, savory and creamy... a dessert beer that doubles as a morning jolt... vanilla and lactose weave among the coffee bean to craft an attractive sip, heavy with reckoning... the roasted malts fortify the experience, with sugars and cinnamon adding enough spice to make this worth enjoying slowly... these guys at Hardywood do Christmas well--a big beer that behaves as a medium-bodied stout... definitely one I will look for next year....

Very smooth with a robust taste of ginger. Very little carbonation. A sit down and enjoy the lights on the Christmas Tree beer.
