Poured from my bottle to a Deschutes Teku, received as an extra in a trade. Thanks again!
A: Typical stout pour, dark brown/black. Off-white head, a decent amount of lacing left on the walls of the glass after a swig or two.
S: I'm a little congested but I get a fair amount of coffee and vanilla with some alcohol.
T: Coffee comes through, not overpowering though. The backend unfortunately is the rubbing alcohol taste, certainly from the 10.3% ABV. Rather unfortunate, it's not finishing very nice as that harsh alcohol taste lingers on.
M: Medium bodied with a proper amount of carbonation.
O: Not my favorite, I feel like the alcohol taste was coming through a little too much. I enjoy coffee stouts but this one for me doesnt completely do it. The only other Hardywood I've had so far is BA GBS.

Bottle shared by Umberto at Curran's tasting.
Pours a very dark brown, basically black, with a one inch mocha head, and a medium amount of lacing.
Smells like chocolate liqueur, bourbon, roasted malt, and a bit of coffee.
Thankfully, the coffee is stronger in the taste. There is some smooth, well integrated bourbon, rich chocolate, along with some mildly bitter, slightly nutty coffee taste. There is the smallest tart-ish twang at the end of each sip from the bourbon and coffee.
Medium bodied, could be slightly thicker. Fairly drinkable. Low carbonation. Very creamy mouthfeel.
Yet another awesome BA stout consumed this past weekend, I think this one's a little better than the ratings suggest.
