A: Deep brown to black in the glass, a nice caramel colored head on the top.
S: Bitter chocolate, coffee and oaky bourbon hit right away. Notes of Vanilla, and espresso finish out the smell. Very nice.
T: A little sharpness as the coffee hits your tongue, followed by chocolate and vanilla. The bourbon fades in for a gentle caress of charred oak, spirit, and toasted goodness. A lovely balance of beer and bourbon.
M: Medium to medium thick, carbonation is low but active, slightly drying on the tongue.
O: Overall a very good beer. Wonderful balance with a tendency for sweetness. The bourbon is certainly there, although it is far less present than previous releases by this brewery. And while I appreciate a good bourbon bomb, this kiss of spirit is certainly a welcome experience.

A - Dark chocolate brown with really thin looking body. Medium, milky head comprised of many small bubbles
S - Smells like coffee bender with light coffee, cream, chocolate and light brown ale malt
T - Light coffee and chocolate. Really bitter near the finish from coffee and light oak
M - Really thin body for the style with a slightly astringent finish from the coffee
O - On the downside of the coffee stouts I've had as it tastes like weak coffee mixed with more of a brown ale than a stout. I'd pass on having this one again.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Black body. Small khaki head. Medium collar.
Smell - Milk chocolate. Coffee. A little bit of bourbon. Vanilla.
Taste - Bourbon up front. A little coffee. Milk chocolate throughout. A little nutty in the back.
Mouthfeel - Medium low carbonation. A little creamy.
Overall - Strange that it tastes nothing like the base beer. Weird.

S: Rich breadiness, medium oak, some vanilla. Slight chocolate. More coffee as it warms.
L: Brown-black with a light tan head that dissipates.
T: Medium high bourbon barrel presense right off the bat with medium light coffee-like malt. Low bitterness with a thin bourbon character mixing with a pleasant coffee roastiness in the taste. Finishes semi-sweet with additional coffee roastiness.
M: Medium low bodied, medium low carbonation. Alcohol very well hidden.
I think a lot of people were expecting this to be similar to BCBCS. Its not. The body is definitely on the thin side, but the flavors are pretty solid. Definitely serve this a little warmer to allow the body come up as well as the coffee.
