12oz can into Ommegang BPA glass.

Pours an dark orange/amber with a medium sized fluffly off-white head. Smell is bright sticky citrus of the tangerine variety (some pine) and a hint of resin. Towards the extra hoppy side for an IPA. Taste starts with the citrus hops followed by a slightly musky malt. Nice and bitter. Mouthfeel is somewhat oily and medium in body and carb.

The strong hoppiness and somewhat odd malt give this IPA a certain strong sharpness that I'm not crazy about. There's a hop oil stickiness that is interesting as well. Worth a try for the west coast hop heads.

On tap at Christian's Tailgate in Houston.

The beer pours an orange color with a large, creamy, long-lasting white head. The aroma is full of toffee and orange citrus notes, with the two appearing pretty much in balance. A little maltier than I like in an IPA, but still nice.

The flavor is more hoppy than the aroma. I get a lot of pine and orange citrus notes, as well as some biscuit malt which keeps the beer from being too bitter. The hops and malt are well balanced, but the hop flavor still does a good job of coming through and standing out.

Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

I am trying the Hopadillo during an unplanned layover in Houston at Ruby's diner in Terminal E. The beer has poured a clear copper amber with thin white head that is leaving a nice lacing. The scent carries fresh hop that is leaning toward bitter than what is traditionally expected fro American IPAs. The taste is bitter through the drink, but not to the point where ira undrinkable. There is enough malt to balance the beer making it sessionable. In addition a bitter citrus, grapefruit, is present. The mouthfeel is medium body with smooth carbonation. Overall this is a very drinkable ipa.
