I am trying the Hopadillo during an unplanned layover in Houston at Ruby's diner in Terminal E. The beer has poured a clear copper amber with thin white head that is leaving a nice lacing. The scent carries fresh hop that is leaning toward bitter than what is traditionally expected fro American IPAs. The taste is bitter through the drink, but not to the point where ira undrinkable. There is enough malt to balance the beer making it sessionable. In addition a bitter citrus, grapefruit, is present. The mouthfeel is medium body with smooth carbonation. Overall this is a very drinkable ipa.

Poured from cans into goblet. Head average (3 cm), off-white, frothy, slowly diminishing. Body medium orange, hazy. Odor slight piney, no citrus.

Initially slightly bitter with no distinct flavor. Finishs with a astringent aftertaste. Not a bad example of an AmerIPA. Worth trying a six-pack.

12 oz can poured into pint glass.

A - Burnt orange / amber with 2 fingers of fine creamy off white head. A thin line of head persisted the entire time I was drinking.

S - Lots of grapefruit with some pine, caramel and bread

T - Grapefruit is the main flavor, followed closely by pine, caramel malt, bread, and citrus hop bitterness

M - Thin-to-moderate body with moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is decently oily, and a resinous bitterness remains for a while in the aftertaste

O - A good offering from Karbach. Not too bitter, a bit lacking on the mouthfeel, but the grapefruit / pine / caramel combo works well.
